Parking space for my rig?
Question:
Does anyone have any suggestions on a location to park a rig during hometime? I live in Indiana, Pa, near rt 286. I was surprised to find out how many places DO NOT want tractor trailers parked on there property. I would appreciate any suggestions, or advice on how to locate one. Thanks.. Answer: Not surprising when you think about it , would you want a vehicle that is not yours parked on your property ? Check with some of the truck / tire shops that you may do business with some will allow parking if they have room . Answer: What company u wit and where their terminal at? Answer: I'll be with Roehl Trucking, won't have my own Truck till sometime in April, but I am trying to locate a spot in advance. There closest yard from here is in ohio. Answer: I haven't delivered in your area, but you'd best be checking it out in advance! It is something you will be asked, or already have been asked if your in training! Tractor/trailer sometimes loaded, sometimes empty! They (Roehl) will not want you to disconnect the unit! Check shopping centers, fuel/gas stations, manufacturing places! Drive around, do you see any parked anywhere? Believe me this is important! Don't put off finding a place, a legal place, and a safe place! You are the one who is or will be responsible for it! Answer: Thank you for the advice, I'll be doing just that.... Answer: When I drove for Roehl, they used to use Keystone Shortway in Strattenville (I-80, exit 70) for dropping off paperwork. There was always a Roehl there. Now that they have gone to scanners, I don't know if they are still using them. You might want to take the 50 mile drive up and check them out. Answer: You might also want to post of topic titled Roehl in PA. I know of a bunch of drives in that neck of the woods. Oil City, Altoona. Answer: That's a good idea IBStrollin, I'll do just that, along with some leg work, I should be able to find a spot, Thanks... Answer: They do still use Strattanville on a regular basis. Seems like everytime I go there, there is at least 1 truck there. Along with the places Bandit suggested, you can also try the self storage places and even the small trucking companies in that area. Sometimes they will let you park on there lot, be you'll probably have to pay them. Answer: i park at a old resturant that is now closed down and it's a huge parking lot that just about 10 other drivers park there truck and trailor there on weekends. depending on were u live look around town to see if any1 else has a big truck parked and see if you park ur truck there. if not u might wanna get with a friend or wife if ur married or whatever and arrange to me u at truck stop and leave ur truck there....most truck don't mind u leaving truck as long as the trailor in attached since 9/11 all the truck stops i now see have enforce there no drop trailors rule Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
