options after Schneider training???
Question:
If I train with and then drive for Schneider, quit after less than one year and pay back the $3500.00 training fee what are my options??? My hope is to drive part time...maybe one week on one week off or similar. I am 47 yrs healthy and presentable with a perfect driving record
The final goal is to own my own equipment and transport cars. Money is not the driving force. I am financially set and able to own my equipment debt free. Any ideas or input is welcomed. GREAT SITE!!

Answer:
I think Roehl (roehl.net) has a one on/one off program.
But why would you quit before a year. You'll be learning every day. If you want to learn about being an owner/operator (running your own business), you could do it under Scheider's umbrella (permits/plates/fuel-maintenanc discounts) with out really being on your own. BOL

Answer:
Schneider's Home Run program may suit your needs already. Go to their site or talk to a recruiter about it. I spoke to a guy that was on it and he loved it.

Answer:
Thanks for the input!!!
I am looking very seriously at Roehl. You pay 2400.00 up front for training which is 4 weeks Mon. thru Fri. Then have two OTR modules of about two weeks. I would then be on the road solo for a few weeks then run 7days on and 7 days off. They reimburse you $200.00 per month for your training.
I can run out of Iron Mountain Mi (50 minutes away).
The 7 on 7 off is perfect and will allow me to work for as long as I need and still have a happy home life.
Keep the ideas coming!!
