TMC it is!
Question:
Hard to believe but CDL school is almost over. 3 more days of road & yard training & we take our final practical test on Thursday.
I start training/orientation with TMC Transp. in Columbia, SC on Monday the 5th!
Thanks for all the help & advice. I'll need all the more once I really get started.Pittsburgh, PA

Answer:
Best of luck Joe

Answer:
Good luck to you and have some fun.

Answer:
Does TMC still have their strict dress code in force? I remember at one point in time you couldn't even wear ear-rings while on the job for them. A good policy at that too!

Answer:
Thanks all for the best wishes!
Seems TMC has the dress code in place... no earrings/piercings, no ponytails or scruffy beards, no tattered clothing.
I worked for a "spit & polish" outfit for 24 years so that's not a big deal for me.Pittsburgh, PA

Answer:
Hey, just wondering if your still with TMC.

Answer:

I asked the same thing at another thread. He may be dead.***Patience is the hardest thing to learn..

Answer:
Is he tqalking about the T.M.C flatbed company with the cool black petes. Cause I never drove for that company but loaded along side of them and I come to the conclusion that T.M.C stands for (The Marine Corp).
Very professional and always willing to give a driver a hand.
Answer:
I drove for them and I loved it. They are a great flatbed company. I messed up and thought that the grass was greener on the other side but it turned brown. I regret leaving them. They paid well.
There are few drivers who actually know what TMC stands for, but we came up with Too Much Chrome or Truckers Marine Corp. to name a couple of clean ones.

Answer:
I always heard TMC= Tarp More Cargo

Answer:
I thought TMC flatbedders was out of Des Moines so why is Curly going to Columbia, South Carolina?
Answer:
Hey Dudes!
I'm still alive & well. I'm going into my final 2 weeks with my trainer. I love the job & love the company. I was blessed with & great trainer & we're having a blast while he's molding me into a real trucker.
TMC has terminals in Columbia & DesMoines. I had my choice of where to go for orientation. It was 65 degrees in Columbia & 9 below zero in DesMoisnes. They really made that a tough choice!!!!

Answer:
Glad you're enjoying it and got a good trainer. It does make all the difference in how things go. Now you can get your own chrome and black machine and start polishing during the down time. I got offered a load to Gramercy, La last year about Feb, 8 degrees in Mich, about 55 down there. Took me all of 3 seconds to agree to haul down to there. It was a nice change of pace....

Answer:
Good to hear all is well Cirly, no doubt on why you went south. Be safe, see ya on the road.
