company trucks
Question:
how many carries let you take the truck home and lets you basically live in the truck? And what carries let you have those lil refrigerators in your truck? Answer: live in their truck you'll find plenty carriers that will accomodate you your reefer your coffee pot and whatever else you might need to keep you out there 24/7. Believe it. Character: Doin the right thing when nobody's lookin..JC Watts Answer: My driver runs for USXpress -- he brings the truck home; and I suppose if he had to, he could live in it during his off time. Guess if he pissed me off bad enough instead of sending him to the "dog house", I could just tell him to go to his truck!!! As for a fridge, US will allow you to have those along with a microwave, and will more than likely install it for you. The shop installed my drivers microwave and cb for him. Answer: Werner won't let you have a microwave but you can use anything that plugs into the cigarette lighter sockets (colers, inverters, etc) and they have a very liberal policy for taking the truck home and living in it, if you want. You can bobtail on hometime to shop, do laundry, eat.....or anything else you can get away with. \ Lots of guys (and gals) put everything in storage a few years and just live on the road. "Hometime" doesn't mean you have to go "home". I spent about a year traveling an amateur rodeo circuit with some friends. I just schedule my hometime at whatever city they were in and camped in my truck at the arena. That was a pretty cool year. Answer: ptown6184 , Most companies will allow you too take (TAH)Time @ Home anywere. The company I work for will allow you to take TAH as long as you have a parking agreement with the owner of the property, where you are going to park. If you have been authorized to park in a location and the company knows you can request to go there anytime. Ex. I am currently onTAH, I have three Locations where I can go( NYC, Memphis, TN, Maryland) I have these locations set up as my TAH locations. So all I have to do is let them know where I would like to be for a few days.Usally I am routed in that direction within five days. If not home in five days I will be DH(Deadhead) Home with pay. As for leaving the house you probally will get a load from a shipper closest to you, But that is not always true. I have drove over 300 miles to a shipper. Just to get back to work. You may even pick up a relay from another driver if tht driver couldn't make his del on time. It really all depends on what freight is available. As for your question about the fuel. All companies pay for fuel if you are a company driver. Just fuel up @ the nearest fuel stop b4 you go home and you should be ok. Just remember this, when you request to go Home the company expects you to be leaving the truck once you get to your destination. So if they look @ your truck and see that it is running, while your suppose to be @ home. They will have plenty of questions as to why this is occuring. With the price of fuel today I am pretty sure the company will probally frown on it. FYI, Just me estimation, but if you plan on staying in the truck when you take TAH, Dont tell the company, because then they may never get you home.. They may look @ it this way. Why send him/her home if all they are going to do is sleep in the truck, s/he can stay on the road and work and do the same thing. I hope all of this was helpful.
