Well, it's decided......
Question:
I will be going to Steven's Transport in January. I've heard the horror stories about them and I know the pay is low to start, but they have been the only one who has kept up contact and gone out of their way to accomadate my current work situation as far as my giving notice and staying thru the holidays. I will be going thru their school for 3 weeks, then with a trainer for 5 weeks, then "dumb and dumber" for 3 weeks, then off for 5 days.....paid( right ). I will try to keep a thread going here to let other newbies know what to expect if they chose this route to get into the industry. That's all for now(let the bashing begin ). Thanks, Steve Answer: Good Luck, Bro. Answer: No bashing....Get some experience, and get the hell out of there.. LIARS SUKK Answer: Thaanks guys, that's what I plan on doing. They want a year to pay off their school, lodging, and bus ticket, then it's on to greener pastures.....I hope . Thanks again for the support and I'll keep you posted. Steve Answer: I went w stevens after going to a school in nc. Good training program just dont get caught up w the childish pinheads and you will do well Bill, Adrian, and Richard in safety are great people and they want you to become a safe and efficient driver. Good luck Answer: At least you will get some valuable experience with Grocery warehouses and packing plants. They haul alot of meat. Get your experience and move on.Good luck with your venture. Answer: raindog...in one of your earlier posts you suggested not going to training in Dallas. I hope it's not to late to try to get into one of their other schools as that is where they want me to go. Steve Answer: If they have a contract school one not in Dallas that would be the best bet. I went to future truckers of america in asheboro nc which is a stevens contract school, I went thru wia . the dallas school I felt was sort of a mill w the students acting like a bunc of street thugs. Like I said stay away from the posers and learn what you can. I believe the school is kind of crowded also. Answer: check into future truckers for they have housing onsite. We had a student there from long island(not trained by stevens) he got a nc cdl. Call them 8006103777 and talk to Pat or Randy Batts. any questions pm me Answer: Mmmm.......i think con-way has a better way: https://www.con-way.com/default.asp?bhcp=1 Better do a little more research before flying away this january, skyboy. Answer: We have a little saying. "One call we haul, If its on the map we'll haul your crap" I think its a winner The old one was "one call we haul, if we can't truck it f...it" That one didn't go over to well. 202 N Main Street Summerfield Il 62289 TRUCK PARKING AVAILABLE!
