Answer:
Ask an out of state school you want to go to if they are third party examiners for your state. Do the same thing at your local DMV office, ask 'em if they accept paperwork from an out of state school.
When I earned my CDL, the school I went to was in Louisiana, I was given the paperwork in a sealed envelope, told not to open it and take it to my local DMV office. They unsealed the envelope, reviewed the paperwork, and before you know I was gettin' a picture taken, fingerprinted and I had my CDL. BOL

Answer:
i don't like the "sponsorship" thing; Try to go to school on your own and then become a "free agent." I think you'd make more money this way as i've proven time and time again in other posts.
Save up until you can afford school.
Much more later. have to run.

Answer:
I live in Illinois and will be taking CDL lessons soon. Today I called the Illinois License division to check and confirm that my driving record was clear, which it was. While on the phone, I asked them about getting a CDL in another state. The answer I received was that I would have to take the written test only and pay the $60 license fee. The Illinois Website only mentions that you have to pay the $60.
Answer:

From the FAQ at Cyberdrive IL.....
When I returned from attending a truck driving school located out-of-state, I was required to apply for a new license and pay the $60.00 fee. Why?
When you leave the state and surrender your license or start the process to apply for an out-of-state license, your Illinois license become invalid. Once you return to this state, you must apply for a new license and pay all the applicable fees. The skills portion of the examination may be waived, providing the license you received from the other state is currently valid.
