I pulled flatbed for 'em befoe they sold the division which became Charger. I was treated well but flatters were a small division in their scheme of things. Look for posts by TrucknTomfromTexas(sp). I think he works for 'em still. BOL

Answer:
Their checks don't tend to bounce, they seem to have cleaned up the scumbag image that they had quite a bit, and I can't recall the last time I saw a JB truck broke down along side the road. Those big companies all seem to take their turn as king scumball... JB was in the hotseat before Swift. Now US Express holds the crown and they are much scuzzier than either of those two ever were. That means that JB will have a decenet image, or at least be below the radar, for a good while.
I talked to one of their drivers at a home depot in Syracuse the other day, and it seemed to me they were doing something rather screwey to him. They have daycabs that make local deliveries, yet they had this OTR driver grab a loaded trailer out of their yard, take it 7 miles to a home depot, wait two hours to get it unloaded, then drive another 7 miles back to drop and hook another trailer that was a 1000 mile trip, that took him near his house.
They guy could have covered 100 miles or better on his way home, instead he sat for two hours and got paid to drive 14 miles. Was is that, about 5 bucks? Five bucks for two hours? I don't know about you, but I'd be jacked if that happened to me.

Answer:
GearJam, that's the phenom, ' take the bad with the good '. And in trucking, 99.9% of the time, that means a favor, freebie or less than your normal earning ability for the time involved. Widely accepted by drivers as, "that's trucking".______

I'd rather die on my feet like a man than live on my azz hiding in a truck.........Sir James Brown

Answer:

Yes, I know that all too well. I have a broker that is throwing me very good paying freight every day. If something happens or a load cancels they go above and beyond to get me another one. Yesterday, they even called and got a load moved up 24 hours so that I wouldn't miss a day. You better believe I step up and get their back when they need it.
There are limits to what I will do though... I know they are going above and beyond for me, but I also know that they are getting their cut. That means that while I may take a crap load for less money, it is still going to have to be worth my while. I am not going to loose money, or work for absolutely nothing. I am also not going to do anything that has a higher than above average chance of getting me hurt or killed. They may get me good freight, but they aren't putting their azzes in harms way to do it.

Answer:

How much does JB contribute to a driver's 401K plan?
If the answers to the above questions are what i think they might be, then the joke may actually be on you, driver.

Answer:

I used to work out of that terminal. They had 1 day cab back then, they only paid him $10/hr, and he spent most of his day doing fingerprint loads at P&C warehouse, then going over to Annheuser-Busch to bring back a load or 2 before heading home. I guarantee you, ALL us Syracuse based drivers spent our fair share of time sitting waiting for beer in Baldwinsville!!
Answer:
A buddy of mine i used to team with at Dominos worked for them and he said he's watched more movies and read more books than he ever has while he was employed with J.B. so what i'm saying is you'll be sitting alot which means not many miles but i guess that's ok when you're making 40 cpm.....
