Just what is a dweller?
Question:
I hear this term bandied about quite a bit. Just what is a dweller? Answer: An OTR Truckdriver that 'lives' on or for the road. The Drivers that believe it's not a job but a lifestyle. Opposite of the 'high rise' city type dweller. Answer: Used more often than not as an insult by those that hate trucking. Answer: Yes I could tell it was a derogatory term, I assumed it meant someone who dwells in the sleeper of his truck while parked at lots. Arent we all dwellers of some sort, some are cubicle dwellers some are truck dwellers etc........spirits in the material world. Answer: Only if it's percieved as such. I prefer the term 'Mobile Homeless' as an insult. 'Mindless Mobile Homeless' would be the term used for those insulted by the 'Dweller' tag. Answer: I have spent some time in a "cubicle farm" but I've NEVER had to sleep, clean-up, pee, etc. in my cubicle. I got to go home after putting in my 8.
