C.R. England
Question:
I have been looking at a few things and people have been saying some really bad things about C.R. England. My husband is about to finish training and so far things have been great for him. His trainer who is the same age as him has always loved working for them. He makes $2200 every week. What is so bad about that. If you could let me know if you have personally worked for them what was so bad or are married to someone that is or has been with England. He seems very happy with the way things go. I read how they won't fix things. The had a reefer leaking oil and they sent them someplace to have it fixed right then.
If someone could let me know more about C.R. England that would be great. I would also like to hear some good news about them too please.

Answer:

To start off the trainer is a liar. He doesn't make $114,000 a year as a driver or O/O.
As an O/O he may gross it but he isn't taking it home. The trainer sounds like a Leasee that hasn't figured it out yet.

Answer:

he should have found out the pay scale for a trainer by now and simple math would answer the question of weather the trainer makes that kind of money
Zigzag a certified failure at OTR trucking.

I think she has one too many zeros.
She probably meant $220.00 a week.

Answer:
andreaallen02, what ever your husband does at CR England make sure he does not lease a truck. He will be broke all the time. They will try and convince him he can make more money as a lease operator. It isn't true.
As far as making $2200. a week, no he doesn't.
As far as not fixing things. That reefer is on their trailer and has to be fixed to haul their freight. If you lease a truck England won't fix the truck. Your husband will. With your money.
If you have a family or are planning on having one (meaning kids)? Leasing a truck from any company will be one of the biggest mistakes you will ever make.
A little reading for you.

As for the 2,200.....I have a feeling he was talking about Miles NOT Money.

Answer:
I sent you an e-mail in which you replied to...
I am glad to hear your husband is doing OK at CRE, however, please keep an open mind when reading the replies from other posters here.
People do not mean to be rude or so blunt, but they have seen so many drivers screwed over by CRE that they feel free to post the truth as they know it or see it..
As for the trainer making $2200 a week, well if he is making that then it really goes to show that CRE Does NOT allow trainers to train, they treat the trainer and trainee as a team and that sux!!
Hopefuly things continue to go well for your husband in the future..
Please what ever happens DO not Let him be convinced to lease a truck with CRE!!!
Also as for the reffer leaking oil, well that will be a never ending problem, almost every single refer will have some sort of problem that he will need to have fixed, as CRE drivers seem to leave the problems for the next driver..

Think for a second about what you just wrote. The REEFER was leaking oil. Of course their gonna get it to a Thermo King and get it patched up in a jiffy! They'll spare no expense when the reefer goes down because if they have a whole load of produce or frozen pancakes go bad it means big $$ out of their pockets and one pissed off customer to boot.
Let's change the situation around and see what happens when your driver's AC goes out in the middle of the Mojave desert in July. Do you actually think they'll route you to the nearest AC repair shop to get to get it fixed? HELL NO! Your driver will be living in a hotbox for quite a long time until he can be routed back to SLC where they'll drop a second-hand, reconditioned compressor in there if they happen to have one on hand in the shop. And the mechanics work such strange hours that you'll be lucky to get one to do any work at all.
If your driver likes low pay, months away from home, sitting at grocery warehouses all night, paychecks that don't add up, junk equipment, and hand unloads in a freezing cold reefer then by all means go to England.

" junk equipment" Be careful on that one Gene. They actually have some real nice Classics they lease. How else could they get some starry eyed newbie to lease on. But, the repairs and maintenance are at the newbies exspense and the companies discretion.
Your right on the rest of it.

There's nothing wrong with that except that it's a dammned lie. Don't you think England has their trainers fill the heads of these starry-eyed newbies with dollar signs from the highpay highway? Next thing your hubby will hear is that the lease program is like winning the lottery and that it's like owning your own business. The only thing you'll really own is the headaches from fixing up England's crappy freightshaker and then they WILL OWN YOU! I'm sure that England gives these trainers a bonus everytime they talk a newbie into a lease. And why not? The trainer probably buys the newbie meals on the road and maybe fronts him some cash. Also, the newbie sees the trainer as a mentor and a fellow 'working joe' driver, and so if the trainer does a good enough sales job (which it seems like he's doing with your hubby) then the newbie will be begging England to get into the lease program.
Just tell your husband to be careful about what he signs up for. If you're still intent of going with England, then do so only as a company driver. Put 6 months in and then start shoppping around for another company.

Stuffiu, yeah the lease operators will get a shiny rig with all the fixings. And why not? England's not paying for it, the driver is. And any extras that get put into the rig only enhances the resale value on the secondary market so if the newbie should get the crazy notion in his head of ditching the rig somewhere and just walking away (gee, that's never happened before LOL) then England will just re-lease it, sell it, or add it to their fleet.
The company drivers get junk though. Those trucks look nice running down the highway, but they are mostly held together by spit and baling wire. They are so underpowered that going up a hill is like that kid's story the little train that could (or couldn't in England's case LOL).
