Driving in Canada
Question:
Anyone know how a DWI I received in CAlifornia some 7 years ago will affect my abilities to drive in Canada?
Keith

Answer:
Pull a copy of your driving abstract and/or MVR. If it isn't there, it doesn't exist.

Answer:
Canada is very strict, a lot more strict than the US. I have seen drivers with misdemeanors get denied entry at the border, and it is my understanding that even if the DUI occurred 10 years ago, you will be denied.

Answer:
You've posted this question on several of these boards haven't you Keith?
Basically, you will not be admitted to Canada with an old DUI on your record.
You might get in if you were just coming in for a short pleasure visit; but coming as a commercial driver, they are more strict.
Now, Canada is no more strict than the USA but the things the Canadian authorities watch for might be a little different from the States. i'm sure someone trying to get into the US of A with an old marijuana pocession rap isn't going to get too far.
Heck, they threw some guy in jail for a year who was trying to get and visit his dieing mother.
