Question:
I found 2 books.
Bumper to Bumper - The diesel mechanics student's guide to tractor-trailer operations
and
Bumper to Bumper - The compleste guide to tractor-trailer operations.
Wich one were you talking about ?

Answer:
Hi A wanna b,
The Bumper to Bumper guide to tractor trailer operations. The local library I visit won't allow a reference book to be checked out. It was easy enough to visit a couple of times a week, sit in a quiet atmosphere and go over the easy to grasp text. One of the benefits of visiting the library is the wealth of books on tape and cassettes of old radio programs that can be checked out. There is normally a 30 time period before they're due. I use them while on the road as opposed to buying new or using a rental service. The fact that a library card is free and the cost of mailing a cassette in the mail in pretty minimal makes them worthwhile. As a tip; I usually stamp the envelope I'll mail them back in before listening to the first tape. They stay in it and I'm assured I'll get them mailed off at the right time. Good fortune to you A wanna b.
Answer:
I am completely happy with this book. I think it also could be named the truckers bible. I thank you verry much for telling me about it.

Answer:
You're more than welcome A wanna b, spread it around. I read your profile re: bicyclig. I've seen a few drivers that carry a folding bike in their tractor. They use them to get in some exercise during a layover or as a short transportation tool. They've also told me they use them to get back and forth from the fuel/food building. Again, good fortune to you A wanna b. By the way, where are you in CA? I lived in Orange County for a few decades.
Answer:
Right now I have no idea what I will be doing (otr or local). There are many things that can make my choices for me. But I was hoping that I would be able to take my bicycle with me. Although I have been bicycling for many years I haven't been able to do much lately. I once took a 1000 mile bicycle vacation through Main, new Brunswick, New Hampshire, and Mass. Right now I live in Marysville, Ca. How ever I was born in Oakland and lived in the bay area ( Hayward, Union City, Newark). I also spent 20 yrs In Worcester Ma.
