a Little help
Question:
I am trying to get my class A permit in Calif. I have passed the general knowledge, air brakes and doubles and triples part of the test. But failed the combination vehicles part of the test. I got one more try. If I fail it then I have to do all the tests all over again Including the $65.00 fee. Needless to say, I dont want to start over again. Can any one recommend any books to study? Can anybody give me any advice to help me to pass?

Answer:

The 'book' concerning CDLs from the DMV should be all you need.

Study the book, this ain't Rocket Science by any means.
Answer:
All the practice test you should need are below. Combination tests are on the bottom left.

Make sure you read the book.

Answer:
A wanna b,
If you can make it to your local library, preferably a main library check out the book,"Bumper to Bumper". If it's not available there are other CDL study books available that offer a the same info as the DMV guides but written in more digestible form. The diagrams are more clear as well.
Answer:
Where are you in CA?
The combination vehicles test is a pain in the (edited) if you've never been near a tractor before. Its tough to visualize the coupling process just by reading the drivers handbook. I don't think there is even one diagram.
The link that stuffs posted is a great resource. I just went through the permit process and recognize most of those questions from the test verbatim.

Thank you. I am in Marysville, Calif. Do you ever pass by ?

Answer:

None of us are. Be sure to concentrate on the questions in your State
manual. Those answers are the ones you must know by heart to pass the
test.
