I just had my physical on 7/15/05, and received my Med. Card for another 2 years. My question is: on my vision part of the physical goes like this, For Distance: Right 20/70 Left 20/20 Both 20/20 w/corrective lenses, How did I magage to pass this if my Right eye is 20/70? Is there something I don't know about? Thanks All and be Safe.

Scarry, hopefully the examiner has sloppy writting and your vision is 20/40 or better.
Recently a physican was sent a letter after qualifying a driver with 20/50 and telling the driver to get new glasses.
The carrier was required to remove the driver immeadiately from service until a new medical was completed and the driver had 20/40 or better in both eyes.
When the driver was removed from service he was enroute from Ohio to Chicago.
The carrier can be cited for using a medically disqualified driver regardless of what the examiner marked on the form.
If your vision is 20/70 speak to your employer and rectify the problem before continuing.

That should be the answer to how you qualified. I personally couldn't ride a bike and find my way around without glasses. With them my vision is 20/20 and I qualify every time I take the test.

I just re-upped my phsyical too. When I went to do the eye test...the girl said cover your left and and read the chart...........I read to the bottom and the "made in usa" mark..
She asked "Why do I wear glasses?". I then covered my right eye and "tried" to read the chart. Hmmmm.............ahhh, um..........."E"??? (the large on at the top)
Got a good laugh out of that one . I'm 20/20 with glasses, but my left eye is really weak without them.

When I took my eye exam for my last DOT Physical, the girl steps up to the chart and ask me to read it.
I told her, just tell me what it says, your a lot closer than I am!!!
