Hey Futuretrucker........step in here for a minute please
Question:
Why C.R. England?
You've spouted off like there's no tomorrow about them.
Are they the next best thing.......besides hot buttered popcorn and sliced cheese?
Convince me, and I'll move my truck over there in a heartbeat.
C'mon now, do your homework and at least try to make all the info you post believable.
I'll even tell them that you're the one that recommended me to sign on so you'll get the recruitment bonus.
What's a reefer?

Answer:
I'm just going by what i'm hearing from several of their drivers that drive for them now, i was told to do that by members here and on another forum, every company out there is not going to be able to please every driver they have period, the reason why i have picked them is that they are in my part of the state alot (bringing freight and taking freight) so i can get decent hometime which is on my list of things i need, they have cdl training and i need that, they have the miles, good insurance plan, good equiptment for me to get the job done in comfort, one other thing everytime i call or have someone call they always give me the same answer everytime, where with one other carrier i get diffrent stories everytime i call and that is well bull$%#@

Answer:
but still son you're going to be making like 23/24 cpm!

Answer:
that is true, but i also here this
low pay=more miles
more pay=less miles

Answer:
So you would work rather harder instead of smarter? There are reefer companies that are paying better and offering more miles than Cr england. Cr england is one of the worst Otr companies. Just because a lot of them go by your house doesn't mean you'll get home often. England actually does the opposite with new hires. With england you'll be out 4-6 weeks average, maybe more, for low pay. Why drive for england and drive 4000 miles a week if you can drive 3000 miles a week with another higher paying carrier and get the same pay. No one's stopping you from going with england, just don't say nobody warned you 2 months after your hire date.Disclaimer:Pick too ugly to post at this time,LOL.

Answer:
do they offer cdl training if so tell me and i will check them out, but if they dont haul freight in my area they are no good to me, but i can get home when requested may not happen on the exact day everytime but it does help

Answer:
Roehl offers cdl training and home every weekend or 8 days. I would definitely start out with them and most reports on them have been good. There a few drivers on this board that drive for them as well. Roehl does dry box or flatbed. It would sure be a much better choice than cr england or swift.Disclaimer:Pick too ugly to post at this time,LOL.

Answer:
i looked at them today and they are not looking for any drivers in my area so they are out of the question

Answer:
Where do you live?? If you live in the northwest try Gordon Trucking in Pacific,Wa. They do a lot of northwest and southwest. England is not the only carrier that hires new drivers. Even swift would be a better choice than england.Disclaimer:Pick too ugly to post at this time,LOL.

Answer:
i need to start with a company that has a cdl training course, only reason why i have not settled with swift is that the recruiter from swift is blank on answers and cant tell the same storey twice

Answer:
Why don't you go through a private school or college to get your cdl training? Most carriers will make your tuition payments as long as you;re still employed with them. If you sign up with a carrier to get the cdl training you'll have to sign a 1 or 2 year contract with them and if you leave them before the contract is over you'll end up owing the whole school amount plus they might put something negative on your Dac.Disclaimer:Pick too ugly to post at this time,LOL.

Answer:
Futuretrucker, I wasn't trying to do a 'smackdown' on ya by posting this thread.
I was merely trying to make you do some serious research into a 'decent' company to get your training from and stick with them for at least a year so you got some OTR experience. Then many more doors will open up for you.
I've never driven for a company that has more than 65 trucks. Call me stupid, but I happen to like it when my dispatcher recognizes my voice (or name), instead of me having to rattle off something like, "Hi, this is Driver number 1,539,673,291", every time I call in.
Believe it or not, there ARE companies out there that hire 'wannabe's' and newbies (other than Swift, CR England, etc....). They'll provide training and almost everything you need to know BEFORE they stick your nieve (sp) azz in a truck headed for a 8 am Monday morning delivery in Chicago.
Seriously dood, ya need to do some searching of the archives before making a decision as to what company you're gonna work for.
Roehl, Marten, Schneider are just 3 of the companies I'd work for BEFORE even considering C.R. England.
If I had a choice of C.R. England or Welfare, where's the Welfare line start?

Answer:
Walla Walla Community College (that's just 50 miles from Pasco) offers three classes in commercial vehicle operation. If you were to take the classes, you'd earn a CDL without going into debt to a carrier, you could live at home while you learned, and you'd have more choices when you went looking for a job. You might even get prehired. Check out the WWCC web site--click on the online catalog--or call toll free 877.992.9922.
Answer:
Hey don’t listen to the guys on this board, want do they know? You should go with England, for you it is an excellent choice.

Answer:
I understand where you guys are comming from, yea they may not be the best in the business but they are giving me a chance, i'm not a job hopper so staying a year is no nig deal with me, i did check into the aid thing and since i work full time now i do not qualify for state aid or a loan because i have some credit issues but should be better after the first of the year, i just picked england and swift because that is who i see in my area alot,
Big Orange= wants teams
Roehl= not hiring in my area
Covenant= wants teams
Stevens= 5 to 6 weeks out, no thank you
