Getting back on the road after 6 years - Need pointers
Question:
I just got a call from a recruiter the other day and I will be going to a training school for a week for some refresher courses, after that I will be heading out with a trainer for 4 weeks. I first got my class A 6 years ago, and only drove for a month afterwards (my brother-in-law, who was then my team driver/trainer, ditched me about 8 states away from home and then the tractor itself a few states later...I quickly decided that was'nt something I was wanting to go through again any time soon, thus the long gap in time before I finally decided to give it another shot.). I have forgotton quite a bit in that time and was hoping for some pointers from experienced drivers and trainers. I scoured through the Newbies section last night and while there is alot of great imfo, theres just too much to go thru to get a good list of "what not to do's" and what to do's". All good pointers and advice is welcome. Thanks. Answer: Hi, I am glad to help you on getting back into trucking, but there is too much information you need to know for me to list it here. I don't like typing that much. If you want you can call me at 903-517-0449 this weekend. I have been driving for 5 years. I Don't know it all, but I think I can be of some assistance to you. You can also email me your phone# and I can call you if thats better. g27851@hotmail.com Take care, Greg Answer: Squarepeg. You might be getting a few crank calls. why would you post your phone number on the world wide web? What color truck you drive anyway? PINK Answer: Yea probably was not the best thing to do. Its a cell# anyway. I can always change the #. Oh, btw my truck is not pink you moron. Just trying to help another driver. Something you probably don't know anything about. Later Answer: Looks like I made a friend for life. Sounds good. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
