new to trucking industry...
Question:
can anyone please help me. i am a recent school graduate & live 30 miles south of chicago. trying to figure out which company to go with. .
i have prehires from werner. stevens, covenant, rhoel & swift already. can anyone let me know of any pros & or cons of any of these?
i was leaning a bit towards flatbed. with all the steelmills & industry in nw indiana i am hoping for a chance of better hometime with one of these companies. my school grades were just under what TMC REQUIRES. SO THATS NOt A CHOICE.
please help this newbie if u can...thanx

Answer:
If you live around chicago Marten might hire you. A lot of their freight goes through chicago every week. I am leased with them and go through there at least once a week. They have one yard in Hinsdale,IL. You might go
through the house often and still average 3000 miles a week. Good luck.Disclaimer:Pick too ugly to post at this time,LOL.

Answer:
thanx for your reply jack
i have seen Marten a lot near me but never thought of them. i will check them out. hinsdale is loke only 40 minutes away from where i am at.

Answer:
NO problem. Since you live around chicago their closest, actually their main terminal,is where they have orientation which is in Mondovi,wi. Good Luck in whatever carrier you end up with. I would stay away from CR england,Swift,Schneider, Werner, and Covenant. They have a real high turnover rate and Ive witnessed first-hand how Cr england and Werner treat their drivers.Disclaimer:Pick too ugly to post at this time,LOL.

Answer:
You might talk to Roehl, they have a terminal in Gary In, and they do offer flatbed, with where you live you would probably be home every weekend, When I drove for Roehl, I lived in Effingham Il, got me home every weekend.

Answer:
Roehl would be your best bet Van or Flat for a training carrier.
There are many jobs in your area available after some experience.
Answer:
I'll double and triple that. Roehl would be your best bet of all.

Answer:
Yep -- I'd look into Roehl as well.
