Welcome to Live Dialogue !!!

should i go with cr england or not
Question:
i want to know the pros and cons, and any input from current drivers

Answer:
No dont do it I heard allot of people complain about them not enough miles I live in salt lake city were there terminals are. They fired this guy right on the freeway and he refused to get out of the truck for two hours. then he was arrested. lots of drama going over there

Answer:
No, do not go with them..
Do a search here in the newbie forum and you will get all the pros and cons needed.

Answer:
I wouldn't!!!!!!! The only thing that is important to CR England is CR England and the money that THEY make!! You'll stay away from home for weeks at a time and I've known some that have stayed out MONTHS before they gotto go home! If you do decide to go with CRE, YOU WILL BE "ENTICED" into leasing one of their trucks at a super inflated rate and sign a contract that is so lop-sided in CRE's favor that it's not funny. Is Chester R England rolling over in his grave over what has become of CRE? Definitely! JB or Schneider would be better choices. In fact, anything else would be a better choice!

Answer:
9 weeks on the road, finnally got hometime approved. Weekend I was supposed to go home they gave me a load going away from home. Told em that I couldnt do the load I needed to go home.Fired on the spot told to clean out the truck in under 1hr.Left stranded in Laredo,TX. Average money made per week $350.00

Answer:
how long did you last with them?
was that the only incident you had and they fired you?

Answer:
Future,
I ripped you a new one in the other thread, and I will not do it here.
BUT here is my advice:
You have NO experience, go with anyone who will hire you for the 1st year.
You will have to put up with alot of adjustments in your lifestyle in that period.
You NEED to start somewhere, anywhere will work.
If a major Co, has a terminal near your house that is who you need to work for.
1 year thats all, then you can make a decision on what company is best for you.
You do not know yet. But you will have an idea at that time.
See my point?
the pay is gonna suck anywhere, they will take advantge of you ignorance and use it against you, its not right , but that is the way it is.
You will be lucky to make 30 thou a yr, go for benifits and some home time.
the rest will be a learning experience.I make them thar Peter drivers green with envy

Answer:
I agree with Outsider on this one. I started out with England and worked there about 14 months. I can't say they treated me any worse than I expected to get anywhere else, but my expectations for someone with no experience were pretty low. I did what was required and kept a positive attitude so when I was ready to go elsewhere I was able to do it on my terms without any hangups from England. Everyone has to start somewhere and unless you have a better offer go with what you can.

Answer:
Well, here's CR England's payscale for company drivers:
1-4 Months 24.00
5-8 Months 26.00
9-12 Months 27.00
1 Year 28.00
1.5 Years 28.50
2 Years 29.00
3 Years 29.50
4 Years 30.00
5 Years 31.00
6 Years 31.50
7 Years 32.00
8 Years 32.50
9 Years 33.00
10 Years 33.50
I'm sorry, but I wouldn't even get out of bed for .24 cpm. That is ridiculous even for rookie pay. When I left Roehl after a little over a year, I was making more than a 10-year CR England driver.
No, these companies are NOT the same. You've got to do your research before committing a year of your life to a carrier. DO NOT sign onto a company simply because you live near one of their terminals or freight lanes.
CR England has a very bad reputation in the industry. If their main terminal was in my backyard I still wouldn't even consider them as a new driver.
Answer:
do what you want i dont care, i have every right to question what you say and to make it worst you all have something to say about any company that you have never driven for, spare me your ripping as you call it

Answer:
futuretrucker go with CRE. What do you have to loose. Like said above, go with anyone who will hire you. No need to plan your career or make the best choices possible and there's certainly no need to ask any of the losers here about a company. They don't know a thing because they have never worked there. So please go with CRE or Prime or Swift. Enjoy yourself because it is a life style and not just a job.
By the way. Why ask when you already know your answer.

Answer:
AHHHHHH,No!
'Nuff said!
I would have to work for CRE for over 10 yrs to make what I make now with 2 yrs exp and I usually get 2300-2500 a week and get home 2x a week incl weeknd

Answer:
Hey futuretrucker, I just wanted to wish you good luck on your decision making process. You are picking some pure F'd up dogshit companies. I must also mention, by typing w/ no capitalization you're kind of showing others you lack intelligence. But when you backlash someone for telling you to stay away from a crappy company I now know you truly are one dumbfu*k. You'll look good in those red never-own lease trucks. Go for it! Besides, they must be training good because I watched a CR try backing into a space which had 500ft of open frontal space to manuever... but dang, this dumba$$ took half an hour to do a straight back!

Answer:
I never said i was going to lease with anyone, just because i choose to listen to what the drivers say doesnt mean i dont take in account what i hear here, yea sure i may agrue and question you so what, do you always believe what you hear from anyone i sure would hope not, and the companies that you call dog (edited) sure do it well and could care less what you think, i'm not totally defending them but i do have to question if they are so bad and terrible why do keep growing like they do and dont use that ( oh newbies dont know better) try to find something else, i'm sorry if i have to go to a company sponsered training course and maybe you didnt have too and i commend you if you payed your own way, i will have to take the company route and do the best that i can do, i'm going to give werner a call tomorrow to see if they have a company school and i hear they are decent too, you (banana unit #1) could use some grammer yourself so dont try to correct others when you have issues too

Answer:
CRE isnt growing at all, they are making the money on training. Moven' fright around is just a side business for them. Look when I worked for them they brought in around 30+ new drivers a week. They werent adding 30 trucks a week. So what does that tell you? They were losen' 30+ drivers a week so they could have trks for the new ones. A while back they didnt even have enough trks they were sending the new drivers back home and telling them to call back and when they had a truck they could start their new job?
Look your chances of making a year with them is slim to none at best. Here is the plan if you go there. Get your CDL work for em 6 months, if you make it that long. Quit and stiff em for the loan, go to work for someone who will pay you enough to support yourself. Or just stay long enough to get your CDL quit go home and drive a dump trk or something half of the people I went through with did exactly that.
They did have dont know now but they had a whole fleet of recovery drivers to get abandon trks. Lots of turn over to have to resort to that.
