Looking forward to second half of training followed by four weeks on the road with coach. Would like to hear some border crossing experiences pertaining to eastern Canada/USA Answer: What part of canada you taking the driver training? Answer: I am attending school in Nova Scotia Answer: I got my class 1 at Masstown in Truro N.S. Answer: I live in winnipeg canada will start school on the 25 of the month. It is a 12 week course with three weeks over the road. It is called earn your wheels. Answer: I am attending school at Masstown also.Am having a great time while learning to drive. Answer: our courswe is also 12 weeks and include 4 week internship..Good luck with your course and have fun while learning. Answer: who's your instuctor and who are you doing you intermship with..................mine was Ken as instuctor.......is Gerald still in the back-up field....of all the people in my group only two of us found work. Answer: Chris is my instructor and yes Gerald(AKA "THE LEGEND") is still on the field. I hope my internship will be with Clark Transportation. two out of twelve doesn't sound very good although it is easy to see that even in my class only two or three will continue in the trucking industry Answer: When you do you intermship make sure they allow you to do all the things involed in trucking................the most important thng is get the address of where the shipment is going and call the place yourself....don't ever listen to a dispatchers directions and always run your log book clean.......My intermship was as a second driver..when I was driving the coach was a sleep....I never found directions to a place myself...............I was showed how to lie on my log book. ...........my first trip on my own was an eye opener.first the dispatcher gave the wrong directions and I got into Boston late.then at the unloading dock they wanted lumper fees witch I was never told about. and never got reimburst for.....from there I was sent up to Que. ....spent 3 days up there picking up a load.............it was other drivers I met on the road that learned me ......I now pick up a load and plan my trip...when I get close to the location I call the place and tell them what I am coming in on and ask for directions[ie;I90] ..........Make it clear to dispatch you will not run over you hours....I am on my third trucking company and with the shortage of drivers around you could go with any company you wish..Clark is good but you must stand up for yourself......Chis is a good instuctor younger than the rest....Chris started there in 2003 around the time I went through and he marked me on the back upfield him and Gerald who use to drive for King Freight..........They probly don't remember me but say high for me....tell them Jim said hello.
