Crusing for dollars.
Question:
I can't believe that they pay me to do this job. Not that I'd do it for free, mind you! Dropped off in Cedar Rapids, grabbed a two pick up for Chigaco area. So far, so good. Had a O/O running partner for the first trip, at least for the first day. Got ditched because he wanted to take off in 5 hours after driving for 11. I did the math and stayed put. Just as well. Nothing like a cb bore yammering on mile after mile.... I really am having a good time. I know, don't tell me, check back in a year or 5! Finally got to see some states I missed such as MN and SD. Cold! Snow! But nice just the same. Everyone be safe, I am! Answer: [quote="truckngirl"], 11. I Finally got to see some states I missed such as MN and SD. What color was the asphalt? Big Answer: Can't wait for her reaction to the varied shades of concrete. Wait till she hits the Windy. Answer: It is a fine ride. Nothing easier then OTR trucking when you have nothing bothering you. I miss the road. I do not miss the drivers that do not want to do it. If you are ever at a shipper and have some annoying guy ask you were you are going that gets out of a day cab. He is prob like me. I am just couriouse. What is going on. I miss it. I see the sleeper trucks. I have been there. I have had the guy ask me. I was like "why dose it matter" or "None of you biz". Now I am the poor guy that has to get the scraps of OTR trucking. The only way I know if the GW is under construction(like is always was) or they have one lane down I 95 in Philly is from the folks that know. The road drivers. When I find a guy from Canada. I have to know. What is the wait on the east and west side over detroit/Windsor. I am sorry. I just love the road. Pay that old guy no mind. He just askes alot of questions(entertain him). Just some old wanta be. I try to never give old stories. Just last time events. I am sorry, it is like a dopper. They have jones's. They like to have it in their blood.202 N Main Street Summerfield Il 62289 TRUCK PARKING AVAILABLE! Answer: Yeah, I got to Chicago...pick up on Grand off of Harlem. Nice tight alley entrance. Quite a bit more than my newbie skills were ready for. Did it best I could, only took an hour and fifteen minutes to get in the dock. Good thing that the shipper was nice and cool about the whole thing and no one else showed up till the end. That driver helped me get into the dock. Probably would still be there if he hadn't helped out. After I left, school bus full of children passed me on the right when I was setting up a very tight right turn. Whoaaaa. Made a wrong turn after that and ended up at the 13'0" overpass on Cicero at 3:30pm. Believe it or not, a guy pulling out of the coin operated carwash helped me by blocking traffic and I actually made a u-turn right there. It couldn't have sucked more. I got to the interstate, rush hour was pumping. I would have spent $100 for the toll for the Skyway if they asked for it. I had to get out of there. Indiana never looked so good. Yesterday sucked even more right here in Montana, but it's just another truck driver story. They tell me that it gets better and easier. I can't wait. Answer: Yeah, it does; the trick is holding onto your sanity until that time arrives. BOL. Answer: Sanity? What's that? Life as a driver does get easier. If you take your time and learn from your mistakes. Once you settle into some sort of a daily routine, it'll go like clockwork. Answer: No fret, you'll get plenty of opportunity to do this job free... Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
