HOW CAN I GET MY 10 WORK HISTORY
Question:
anybody know how i can get my 10 year work history cant exactly remember all the jobs i worked at in this time frame Answer: Fake it. Unless you were driving a truck (or are anal compulsive), it doesn't really matter. Allow me to elaborate: To the best of my knowledge, you have not yet obtained your CDL so the 10 year job history is more of a formality in your case, then a major concern (as it would be for a person who had been driving commercially for the past 10 years). The ideal situation, of course, would be to have a completely accurate job history but since that's not realistic, just try to get it as close as possible. The odds of a hiring company looking further into your background than the past three years (if that) is extremely small. What is important is that once you develop your job history, stick with it and keep it up to date. Answer: Just do the best you can. If you are just entering the industry the only thing that they will be looking to verify is the last 3 years so make sure that is 100% complete and accurate. Beyond that just put it together the best you can, but make sure that all time is accounted for in the last 10 years in some way be it with work, school, unemployment or self employment. Answer: BTW, whatever you do come up with use the same list on every application you fill out, and to make it easier for you make up some kind of list to keep with you with your 10 year work record on it. Answer: You must have followed my steps, if you cant remember. Hell, I have had so many that they are going to put me into the Guiness World Book of Records. Thinking about doing it again very shortly. And as Phil said, If you aint worked for a trucking company that has reported anything to DAC, it aint hard to I know!!!!!!! Answer: Umm well i dont have a cdl yet but i have worked for a company, where i drove a 24ft straight truck delivering and picking up mail in and out of state for a temp service which the truck fell under the cdl limits. not to sure if that would count, just a little uneasy because i always hear these companies want to see your 10 year work history and everything has to be accurate no exceptions Answer: First of all, how old are you? And second, why are you so concerned about the 10 year work record? You aint killed anyone have you? Been caught in a whorehouse? But seriously, why are you worried about the last ten years? Answer: im only 25, never been arrested in my life. i concerned about it because im going to applying to alot of different companies after i get my cdl training whether it be city/ private companies, just want to have that handy incase they ask. also i have some gaps between employment so i want to try and fix that up a bit so it can look alittle more presentable.... also want excuse can u put on a application if u had a 2 year gap? Answer: Well what were you doing during that 2 year period. Whatever it was put that. There is no reason to lie or to try to "make it look good." If you were going to school then put you were in school and where you went to school at, if you were unemployed then put that. If you were in the military put that, if you were are member of the Guard or Reserves then put that down. Get the idea. Answer: you don't have to go back 10 years, since legally, you can't work until your 16,shoot,i wouldn't bother going any further back than after u graduated high school Answer: When I first wanted to start driving I applied to Schneider the stupid lady that went over my application on the phone went through it all and said are you 100% sure these dates are correct I said well I dunno about 100% but I am about 90% sure she said well if they are not 100% then your application will be false and you can never work for Schneider she said go down to the Social Security office and obtain a complete work history I said you can do that in California she said oh yea, I never went I shouldn't have to do all the footwork for a stupid OTR company so I never went through with it and had me a different job in a week but anyways I dunno if the SS office can provide that it sounded funny to me but I dunno there is a suggestion you can try . Answer: With the INCREASE in security , many companies require EXACT employment information. Answer: How are they going to know if the information provided by the applicant is EXACT or not? Answer: Now i thought if you have not been driving truck before, you only had to give them 3 years. (Or at least that what i was told) Answer: To simplify things when it comes to driver qualification files many companies still want a 10 year work record. Makes it a lot easier when the DOT comes poking around and doing a records audit. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
