werner and falcon
Question:
Just got prehired by falcon and Werner . Do they haveTerminals in nj ? If so where at ? ANY thing good to say about them ?
Thanks for the info.
Answer:

Translated to "they read your application".

Did it occur to you a call to the recruiting department could
result in answers to questions you may have?
A web search may also be usefull.
Answer:
Ok …. Let me clear things up for Mike here. When I said “prehired” I meant that they called me back to setup the training. It’s the term they used. Falcon and Werner are 2 out out of 4 that called back to “prehired” and told me that they would send me the info. Just thought I ask if anyone worked for Falcon and Werner out of NJ. What do they think?
Answer:

Okay.

The term "prehired"is used to seduce you into thinking you have a job when
in fact you've been accepted to "train" at substandard wages for a period of time if you're a recent graduate of an approved school. I'm quite "clear" on the
marketing techniques Carriers use to decieve the unknowing into
believing the less than truthful claims made.

Thruthfully it's a basicly useless question. The "opinions"will vary by personal experience or rumor. The decision ends up as hit or miss on your part.
Have you ever asked yourself why Carriers use "recruiting" to entice
employees? Interesting how "good" jobs have waiting lines to fill positions.
Answer:
Yes.. I think we all know what are doing. I got 15 brochures about there wages. As for personal experience. That is exactly why I’m asking .Do you know a better away for a newbie like me to get OTR experience?
Answer:

IF you actually want to be a carreer OTR driver the Carrier has no relevence.
The only difference is the color of equipment and what you're willing to endure
concerning conditions. You do have options other than OTR to gain driving experience.
Answer:
hate to burst your bubble pal, but what rabelam says is the truth. if you want to drive a truck and have a life ie; be home more than once a month, there are local carriers out there for you to goto work for. These carriers are both union and non union.
I dont work a union job, but if I was you thats what I would shoot for and yes they hire newbies also. You just have to have the driving record to back it up.
I am not trying to turn this into a union/nonunion thing, this is just my opinion. I have done LTL for a year now, and I have found it chalenging and satisfying, I hope to land a union gig soon.
You may have a case of wanderlust right now, and thats just fine, but real world trucking is discusting and no one can dispute that. It's not like a hotel, and even though your sleeper can be top notch, you still have to go into truckstops that are scum of the earth type places. I grew up around and worked on farms, and still do whenever I am needed, I would rather play in that kind of schit than be around most (not all) of the people you will find in this industry.

Answer:

Answer:
rabelam and asphalt;
you guys did an awesome job beating him up.
someone has to beat these people up when they have the nerve to ask a question.
hopefully , others will see this and not ask any more questions. It must get tiring when you have to correct so many people.

Answer:
Should call them the NEWBIE forum BULLIES or babys
Answer:

Nobody beat him up,just informed him of facts concerning prehire
facts. That's for your contribution to the topic.

Hopefully others did see the facts posted about the prehire term.
I'll try not to wear myself out answering questions with facts
concerning "Trucking". What does tire me is Newbies that
refute facts because they're not what they want to "hear".
Hears another fact to ponder, the "beating" here is nothing compared to
"beatings" administered by the vocation in their future.
Answer:

Thanks for your contribution to the topic, unfortunetly it appears to be your
usual drivel. Actualy an example of the psychotic personalities the
Newbies will face in their future.
Answer:
My REPLY was to DRIVENAWAY , was not directed or addressed to you now was it so you can stuff your drivel
As for the PSYCHOTIC comment that shows your own demeaner would it not be Better to meet up with a successful owner operator who has made something of his years of driving than a DISGRUNTLED old retired dweller .
Answer:
he asked a couple of questions which noone answered.
What is so hard about answering a question ?
Noone refuted anything.
