Welcome to Live Dialogue !!!

For you "newbies" with lots and lots of questions
Question:
One of the easiest ways for you to get the answers to your questions go to the following link.
http://www.idodac.com
You do not have to register on the site to look for information. Most every company is listed there, under alphabetical grouping. The comments are purportedly posted about the companies by current and former drivers. I say "purportedly" because I cannot verify the veracity of the comments or the posters. I should think however that the posts there would be as honest or useful as any found on this site.
While posts in any forum are subject to scrutiny.....it would be advisable to use the information as only a portion of that information you utilize to make a decision. So I like what I do, you don't, too bad, get over it. Get on with your life, I am.

Answer:
That site is interesting Skywalker.
I noticed some on the postings are from realdrivers.com's web site.
If you get a chance, you can read one of my postings I originally posted on realdrivers web site years ago.
It's listed under Indian River Transport and is the last entry on the page dated 9-2-02

Answer:

It IS realdrivers.com now.
And not worth much, IMHO.
Very little traffic, mostly way out of date info.
Only complainers bother to post, once in a great while.
The larger the company, the more complaints, naturally.
Of course, some of the well known rip off companies deserve what they get there, but who's to know when one or two folks complain.
Much the same prob with ripoffreport.com also.
It's interesting, but should be taken with large grain of salt in many cases, I think.
Mac

Answer:

That is why I put the "caveat" in there.....when I posted the link. True, usually only "complainers" post, but on the other hand sometimes people who are happy do as well. But I also tend to think that "no news is good news".....in other words, if there are very, very, very few complaints on a company...is could be deemed as indicative that the company is not a bad one, or is better than most. But then.....who really knows. All I wanted to do was expand the field of available information....and if I did that, good.
Anything and everything in this industry "must be taken with a grain of salt", otherwise you will go crazy, over the edge, freak out, job hop, or who knows what....... And that is something we can all agree on!!So I like what I do, you don't, too bad, get over it. Get on with your life, I am.

Answer:
Thanks for the link Skywalker. As you said the various forums need to be taken with a grain of salt, but it is still one more place to checkout and use along with other info in making a decision.
It seems like the best use of it is to confirm the companies to stay away from. Those that have many posts from many different posters all of whom have negative things to say, makes for a pretty clear indication of a company to stay away from. There is a lot of value in avoiding making a bad decision.

Answer:
Using the reasoning posted here sinse prime has over 3000 trucks and over the coarse of a few years only a few people complianed, they must be ok
CRST has less complains than CFI so they are the better company
Prime 11 posts
CFI 10 post
close enough, they must be similar,so take your pick.Prime trucks go faster,so that should be the better deal instead of driving some lame slow truck, you can run with the big time truckers in a Prime truck

Answer:
swift has 10 times as many trucks as shaffer,so 10 times the number of complains should be expected, plus swift hires more newbies who ain't real men that are cut out for the job,so training companies would have more complainers than other companies, damn sissy's can't cut it,than whine all over the internet.

Answer:
Easy to ansewer that
ZIGGY has not worked for most of them so therefore less COMPLAINTS
realdrivers & idodac are the same site
Answer:

Just one problem "zig", you failed to read the posts regarding CFI. If my memory serves me corrected......there was in reality only one "negative" post, and one or two generic comments from the same party....with the balance being "Pro-CFI", ergo....your hypothesis and reasoning are invalid.
I didn't read the posts regarding Prime....I have no interest in them, but based upon their track record and the number of posts here as well as elsewhere, those facts invalidate your hypothesis and reasoning as well.
My truck goes "70".....its fast enough.......my ego is not such that I need to "run with the big dogs".......but then I don't spend any time worrying about getting tickets...... But then also, CFI does not put a newbie through a 2 week school, get them to sign a contract and turn them loose in a 75mph or faster truck.
If you think Prime is the better company, so be it. Its your opinion, and you are certainly entitled to it. Me, I'll stick with CFI. I'm quite happy and content with them. You see, I know the truth.......and the truth shall set you free!!So I like what I do, you don't, too bad, get over it. Get on with your life, I am.

Answer:
I wouldn't tell many people to go to prime,a few around here yeh
the point was using the reasoning given by a few people unless their are hundreds of negitive complaints it must be ok
11 disgruntled prime drivers out of 3000 trucks,so whats the problem, thats what some people posted above and it's far from accuate to make that asumption as can be seen in the case of Prime and other companies,so once again the fountain of misinformation flows at full force at trucknet misleading wanna bee's with bogus information and assumptions.
46 swift reports out of 17,000 trucks, can't keep everyone happy,so whats the problem, 46 out of 17,000 is nothing to worry about, must be ok if 16,954 don't complain
swift 2/10ths of 1%
prime 3/10 of 1%
.001 differance in number of complains
now if we ran a poll and got a few thousand drivers to answer 99% would say swift before prime, but that is not what some people above would have lead wanna bee's to believe using their reasoning of the way to look at the results from that web site.
shaffer with about 1000 trucks and 6 complaints would look worse than swift and prime put together
Answer:
The reason you do not see too many post from Prime drivers is that most cannot read or write.
They certainly cannot read a truck lease.

Answer:

Don't you have a better shot at going interracial with Prime though ?? ______

I'd rather die on my feet like a man than live on my azz hiding in a truck.........Sir James Brown

Answer:
Zig, be that as it may....it still was posted simply as "another" source of information for people inquiring about different carriers.
I did not read all 46 posts regarding Swift, as they don't interest me in the slightest, and yes 46 posts vs. 17,000 trucks...a small percentage indeed, but so to probably would be the percentage of "internet capable" swift drivers on the road.
I know many drivers from many companies who do not have internet access, are just not interested, or don't care.....so in any event, information from one source in addition to others is simply an added tool. Who knows, the vast majority of those posts may support your position and that of other naysayers.....?? And who knows, those posts may cause some "lookers" to consider other career choices. You're not afraid someone will find information that will override yours are you?
I drove for Swift years ago...95-96, and frankly.....I wouldn't recommend them based on my experiences with them. I can't say I was treated badly...by Swift itself, but they carried far too many "driver unload" FOOD loads.....and I think food warehouses "suck" in general. And they shorted you between 10 & 15%
of your miles....paid vs actual. So, I bid them adieu and got a better job. But I left there 10 years ago.....so my feelings and impressions about them may not be accurate....so I try to point someone to more updated info....thats all.
I drove for PST before Swift, and that was a company that deserved do go out of business....but I won't dwell on that, no point, they've been out of business for years now.So I like what I do, you don't, too bad, get over it. Get on with your life, I am.

Answer:

yet it's somehow wrong for people to bash trucking
all trucking companies haul freight from and to a bunch of a-holes,some outfits more than others
spin it all you want,it's a crappy job and not something anyone should throw away another career for or seek out as a career if they have other options
Answer:

Congratulations..... you have mastered the ability to cut and paste little portions of an entire post and misinterpret the lot of it. You once again post little but "drivel".....you make me 100% correct in my statements.....because you stupidly continue to criticise and naysay an entire industry over one or two carriers. I am beginning to wonder about your mental faculties.......
And your blanket statements about hauling freight from and to a bunch of a-holes is just further proof of your gross inaccuracies...... while that may have been your general experience......was it keyed to your general appearance and conduct when dealing with people. If your methods were back then as they are here......its pretty much an indictment of you, and labels you for what you really are. A disgruntled, unhappy, unsuccessful, miserable individual with nothing better to do than try and rain on everyone else and their aspirations.
You really should try to stop this attempted "transferrence" of your guilt and misery brought on by your failures in life to other people.......it doesn't sell, and you are forgetting.....something very important: People are smarter than you think, and you apparently got the notion that you are pretty high on the food chain.....but yet you repeatedly give cause to doubt that fact.
I'm not spinning anything any more than you......the difference is: I won't blather nonsenical unfounded generic garbage.....as the naysayers do. Its that simple.
But, as ever......you bash, but never offer alternatives. Is it because you aren't qualified...and know it.....or because its just so much more fun to bash away without regards to the consequences.....like the brayingjackass with the big kicker hiding in the sleeper???? C'mon....'fess up. Or get real....and a life to go with it. Describe to us your great break out from the hellhole of trucking! Inspire others to climb "Mt Olympia" to achieve the supposed success you have achieved......or are you a failure with naught but grief to pour out, ad nauseum? So I like what I do, you don't, too bad, get over it. Get on with your life, I am.
