Alcohol evaps
Question:
Please inform me of the use of alcohol evaps for the air lines...cost, are they worth it, downside, etc. in the great white north here.

Answer:
A well maintained air dryer and draining air tanks on a regular basis will do more for your air system than anything. If the problems are with the tractor you have air dryer problems that need to be resolved. If you are pulling your own wagons there is really no need for one, again unless you are having air dryer issues. In the event that you are switching fleet trailers on a regular basis and your issue is with the trailers then an alcohol evaporator might be the solution BUT... alcohol is hard on valves and tends to dry them out causing pre-mature failure. If this is the problem maybe installing the evaporator close to the trailer lines will save YOUR valves and resolve your problems with their trailers.
