Work history
Question:
I've read thru the website and I am about to put in some applications. I went to the local Social Security office today to make sure I get my employment dates correct, but they told me they could only provide me with what employers I worked for in any given year, but not exact dates of employment. Can anyone tell me how the trucking companies check work history and if their is a way I can verify the dates myself? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Answer: Dates are checked by contacting the employers listed and asking them if you worked for there and when. They will do this for every employer you have had in the last 3 years. Be prepared however to provide a complete 10 yeart work history. Make sure all time is accounted for. BTW: You do not need exact dates. Ie 02/02/99-10/05/99/......just month and year will be fine....02/99-10/99. If you have no idea when you worked for an employer then call the emplyer and ask them to check their records. Answer: Thanks, U-turn. While in a chat someone suggested the unemployment office. That sound like a good idea, too. Answer: Try and get the dates as accurate as you can some potential employers hate doing you work for you, also if there are GAPS in between periods of being employed make sure you note them and give a reason / what you were doing.
