My soon-to-be-ex makes $150K a year, and hates her job. Listening to her run on about all the built-in problems she has every day sounds just like a lot of posts on this board.

You'd think, wouldn't ya? The social requirements of getting INTO that realm of management aren't so simple, though. Sounds insane, but it's true. If you don't meet certain expectations regarding lifestyle and interests, you aren't considered a team player. The promotions and assignments don't come any other way.
