Welcome to Live Dialogue !!!

Stupid question.......
Question:
I see the terms chicken hauler, chicken lights, etc, used a lot. What do these mean?
Answer:
The terms are concerning Drivers and equipment that have lights
that are not required by regulations. The Drivers will claim it's for Safety but it's all about "Ego" today as it was when "actual" Chicken Haulers started the practice. Now Meat Haulers today along with the "lights" have a Cow Bell
hanging from their Trailers because their "egos" don't want to be called
Chicken. "Big Radio" is another "ego" thing you will no doubt hear.
You will learn the venacular as you continue with your training.
BTW There are no questions here classified as Stupid. Any questions
unasked are the Stupid ones.
Answer:
Thanks RABELAM!
Answer:

Truest words spoken here! No matter what, if you're new to the trucking industry, most likely you haven't got a clue as to what 'anything' means (or is). Ask away! There's plenty of people here willing and able to answer any and all questions asked. (some answers may be of the smartass kind )

Answer:

See all the additional lights (other than factory lights)? Those are 'Chicken Lights'.
Note.............
Lights along side the hood, next to the air cans and in and under the front bumper.
Under the cab & sleeper.
In the center panel.
Here's a better perspective on 'Chicken Lights'.

Answer:

So glad you posted that link, don't want the Newbies thinking it is correct to have your Chicken Lights NOT working!
As a company driver you might not be allowed to add extra lights, sometimes they are already on the truck then you just enjoy them and keep the ALL working! You'll find that companies don't want you drilling holes, adding accessories, and things like that. The O/O's are good at lights, bells, and other accessories!
I'm just giving you a hard time because the truck has been lacking lights lately!

Answer:
A picture's worth a thousand words......thanks Hoss. Nice truck too
Answer:

It means they're gay. The more lights, the more of a flaming queen they are. Don't let anybody tell you different.
Answer:

No it don't.
You can tell they're gay if they pretend to be a truck driver and use a avatar of Kerry wearing a Nazi uniform.

Answer:
I would agree with all the above except when it concerns the rear of the tractor when bobtailing.
I feel that the minimum requirements aren't good enough in this area; If you follow a bob-tail on a dark road you'll know what i'm talking about. This is one area where "chickening up" like on Hoss' truck actually makes things safer---much, much easier to see at night.
I'm not so sure about the gay thing though. Seriously.

Answer:

I thought it was the Stars&Bars or Shark Teeth
on the Grill and that "big radio".
Answer:
Hey hoss those straight pipes look sweet!!

Answer:
Well, I see you STILL haven't fixed those burned out lights. You're a disgrace to Pete owners everywhere.....lol.
Oh that's right, That yellow motor will only power up a few lights. Otherwise the alternator would make that BIG motor stall out.
Do you alternate the burned out lights just for variety, or have you added a few burned out ones???
BTW, the new stacks do look good Thank GOD they aren't lit up.

Answer:

Thanks! They sound great too!

Answer:
Wow what shade of pink is that? ...just joking there Hoss
