Black mark on the DAC...
Question:
I just checked out a site at www.treport.com This company claims to be the DAC for drivers and students to check out companies records. The catch is that you have to pay for it. Anyway its says on there that if you leave a company before 1 year of service you get a "black mark" on your DAC report. Is this true?

Answer:
Assuming you leave a company the proper way, by informing your company you are quitting and turning the truck in where they want, and in good condition there are no black marks for quitting. (This is also assuming you are working for a somewhat reputable company)
The problem arises when a person has several driving jobs in a short period of time (like more than 1 a year or 4 in 3 years). This can make you seem less attractive of a prospect to a company and cause them to not hire you.
I will always be a mutter trucker at heart.
Answer:
Thanks for the replies to my posts, I appreciate it.

Answer:
Real Drivers.Com has a DAC for drivers (company reports) on their site. It's free.
Oink! Oink! Oink! Grunt! Grunt!
Answer:
You also have the right to post an explanation on DAC to any negative listing by a company. MOST(not all) companies are smart enough to get the straight story from both sides. If you have a quit under load or abandonment of equipment--forget about it--you're dead in the water.
Better to have it and not need it as need it and not have it!Just remember:If the world did'nt suck, you'd fall off!
The more I see and read about Republicans and Democrats, the more I wish we had an Independent Party.
IMPEACH BUSH!!!!!!!!!!

Answer:
The www.treport link did not work and I could not find it in a google search. You need to be wary of anything posted on Real Drivers. It is very easy to post a negative comment about a company.
The best way is to go to some boards like this and ask about a company that you are considering.
If you are denied employment because of a negative DAC report then you have the right to a free copy of your report and the right to dispute any negative information. IF you quit always try to leave on good terms and you won't have a problem, even if it is less than one year.
However, if you change jobs several times in a short peoid it will raise a red flag to HR.
