Installing toys ins and on your truck
Question:
Before you run out and buy that big CB radio, or a new AM/FM CD player, or that XM Radio, or that Satellite dish, that big power inverter, a bug deflector, whatever you need to check with your company to be sure that the item you are wanting to put in or on your truck is authorized. Many companies have some very strict guidelines as to what, when, how a company driver can add something to the truck, and if you add something to the truck the company forbids you might find yourself without a job faster than you can say "Break 19". One other thing to keep in mind. Everything you put in that truck is just one more thing you are going to have to remove when you leave that truck. As a company driver you may be required to switch trucks at a moments notice at any time. I will always be a mutter trucker at heart. Answer: But, Ask alot of questions about what you can and can not have. When you call the human resourses dept. make sure you know what you think you'll need on the road for electronics. 40% of the carriers I talked to had some may restrictions. Werenr and Schneider are like a government company basically limits on everything. Millis, Arrow, FFE and Reohl, pretty much let you do what you want in terms of putting loads of electronics in your truck or upgrading stereos. Only thing is you must let their maintance dept. put in inverters to make sure its done right. Basically, when it come down to it, its mostly if the company cares about their drivers confort or not. Answer: Microwaves, many many carriers wont let you have these on board for safety reasons. most inverters go up to 2000 watts, which in itself is a fire hazard if not installed right. Many microwaves draw around 1700 watts so a 1500 watt inverter wont cut it and you could have major problems. Answer: I lack a bick radio what makes a lotta noise when ya key the mic! The more annoying, thu better! Oink! Oink! Oink! Grunt! Grunt! Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
