Answer:
Not too long ago there was several 'lively' threads here about Heartless (intentionally misspelled).
Use the search feature next to the 'FAQ' at the top of the forum pages to find answers to your questions. Just type in 'Heartland'.
Oh yeah, ask Peacekeeper also. He checked into working for them..........that's what brought on those threads about them.
Stuffs used to work for them..........for a couple weeks.

Answer:
I have talked personally to two ex-Heartland drivers.
Driver 1 was with me at orientation at what I'll call Company A. He said he quit Heartland because he wasn't getting enough miles. During this one day orientation, he asked the presenter about hometime -- about four times.
I think I know why he wasn't getting enough miles.
Driver 2 was with me at orientation at what I'll call Company B. He said he quit Heartland because of a dispatcher dispute. This dispute was caused by the driver wanting to take hometime -- on his own initiative, without making any prior arrangements -- since he happened to be near his home. He was on his 2nd dispatcher, saying that his 1st was not 'aggressive' enough (or something like that).
I did ask one of their drivers about miles while at a fuel island once. He said the miles were okay (he did not give a figure, which would be dubious anyway), but he wasn't happy with a lot of recent T-calls.
So, I dunno. That's all I've heard first hand, from people I could somewhat assess in person. I see that they are apparently paying $0.40 for 1 year experience, so that might be kinda hard to pass up (higher-than-average pay for slightly lesser miles does not sound like a bad thing).
