Life is still good
Question:
Greetings to all and I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I have been on the road for about 6 weeks are so. Things are going great. I haven't had any major problems (yet). I have had a few things occur. A few weeks ago I looked down at the Alt gage and noticed it was charging at less than 12V's. I was only 10 miles from the next TA and pulled in. I had to wait 4 hours to have it looked at. Turns out the A/C compressor clutch had locked up and the belt was streched. Took about another hour to get it fixed and was on the road. Just the other day I pulled out from a small store where I had stopped to get a soda the air line under the seat broke. There was no place to stop for the next 8 miles. Crossed my fingers, watched the gagues, and hoped for the best. Made the turn and pulled into a small gas station. Being a little after midnight it was closed and not a problem. Took me about 15 minutes to fix the line. From that experience I learned that it is all but impossible to hold a flashlight and work with both hands. For Christmas I have asked for a rachet screwdriver and a headset light beam. This forum has been my single greatest aid. I want to thank everyone who contributes on a regular basis. You are great. Your experience has been invaluable. I hope to someday be able to do the same for those that are coming after me. I will continue to update and spread any information which may be of assistance to others. Again, thanks for your assistance and Happy Thanksgiving. HiLndr Admit nothing. Deny everything. Answer: Glad to hear the "occurrences" are small ones. Maybe ask Santa for a Snake Light for Christmas? Hope you make it home for Thanksgiving and if not, hope you have an enjoyable Thanksgiving meal with good company. ****************************** Answer: Sounds like your having fun. I am going back on the road in 2 weeks. Back to the good ole days of traffic, unloading, and smelly underwear Answer: Driving will always have some "downs",but for the most part you should have more "ups".It sounds like your on your way though,so good luck in the future!! Answer: Some advice for you get a pair of visegrip pliers amd some nylon zip ties and maybe a roll of duct tape. These 3 things will fix almost any leaking airline enough to get you in to a shop most of the time. aman Answer: Quote: "...headset light beam..." This is the BEST money I've spent in a long time. These things really come in handy - even just doing normal stuf like sliding tandems in the dark, straping or securing a load at night...and since the light's coming from near your eyes -- no shadows! If it's not too late, ask Santa for one of the new LED headset lights. 1. The batteries last about 50-times longer (!!!) because LED lights use just a tiny fraction of electricity compared to regular fashlight bulbs. 2. LED units are lighter and smaller, since they use smaller batteries. 3. The light's just as bright, and more smooth and even than the hot-spots you get with a regular flashlight beam. 4. The light's whiter (it looks blue at first) and it's easier to see colors, etc. 5. The bulbs never burn out. The LED flashlights and headsets are more expensive than regular units, but well worth a few more bucks, especially the small, lightweight advantages when you're wearing it on your head. You'll be surprised how much you use it, and will wonder why everyone doesn't have one. Even if I'm rooting around under my bunk or in a storage compartment looking for something, it's easier to throw this little thing on my head than holding a flashlight. Good luck and be careful out there this winter. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
