Intl Truck Show Anaheim - Gordon Trucking
Question:
I went to the International Trucking Show in Anaheim today. It was my first truck show so I have no others to compare it to, but it was very cool. It runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I picked up some good info at the CA Highway Patrol booth. Another vendor had simulators that looked very realistic although I didn't wait to try one.
One of the main reasons I went was to talk to Gordon Trucking. Nice people, a smaller carrier. They've got a very good pay and benefits package. You have to have your CDL but they take people with no experience. They also pull doubles in certain areas and that experience could lead to being able to work for Fedex or other high paying companies. They're definitely worth checking out if you can get your CDL separately.

Answer:
Hey Coder,
For what it's worth, I talked to a couple of Gordon drivers last month heading down I-5 thru OR . they all seemed to like the company nobody said anything bad at all lcome to think of it.
I have also noticed a lot of thier trucks traveling into and out of the Bay Area lately, I know they go into the Owens Corning glass co. in Santa Clara but haven't seen where else they may be slipping into (haven't looked all that hard though). I didn't see many of their trucks hooked to doubles one or two here and there that was about it.

Answer:
I used to work for them....if you like the western states and spring suspension and so-so dispatchers then they aren't too bad. Alot of paper products and dog food loads, so heavy stuff there. As far as owens corning, most of those are doubles loads of insulation.... and be sure you can go to canada as well. A good deal of that as well.
