Welcome to Live Dialogue !!!

Wish me luck, test time tomorrow.
Question:
Well, guess I'm going to try the writen tests tomorrow. Any last hour advice??? I'll start school next Monday & hope it goes well. I'm an old dog and you know what they say!! Only one solid offer so far (Werner), hope that changes too.

Answer:

Read every question completely. Then read all the answers before deciding which one is correct. sometimes there are two answers that seem almost identical.
Good luck...I ride for those who can't! POW/MIA - You are NOT forgotten!!
Lead, Follow or get out of my way!!!

Answer:
GOOD LUCK!!!!
I took and passed my California written tests last week. If you have studied your states commercial drivers handbook you should be fine. Relax, relax, take your time and double check your answers. Be careful of the wording, some questions are "Which is not the main cause of brake failure..." you could miss the NOT part.
Post us as soon as you PASS!!

Answer:
Thanks guys, passed the test with all the endorsements. A few questions were out of the blue but most were OK. Had almost decided to skip tanker since I don't think I'll ever pull em & didn't study that part much. Took it anyway since the same $50 covered them all. Ironicly that's the only one I aced.
I't a load off anyway & I can start school on Monday.

Answer:
Good job, I hope you will find work soon..Ivey EnviroTech Services
Start Up date: 3/1/06

Answer:
Thanks Q, got an offer from Werner but I'm hoping for more of course. Roehl is sending conflicting signals. 1st recruiter said send in a package & they did run my history. When I called back a 2nd said they are not hiring from my area now, not enough going in this area to get folks home as offered. But today they have an add running in the local paper!?! Who knows.

Answer:

Congradulations shiftingears; hurdle one is over, now its time to move on to hurdle two. Don't give on Roehl transport. I am going to be going to US Express next month, however Roehl Transport was one of my top choices and I got pre hired and accepted into their school. They are hiring in my area here in the northeast and seem to have good equiptment and decent work. Talk to somebody that works for Werner before taking the plunge that way, there are conflicting reports out there about that company. You may also want to check other companies in your area. There is Stevens Transport in Texas; US Express in Tennessee and others. Wish you the best. See you on the big road
Answer:
Thanks Dtrain, very active post!!!! Still have hopes for Roehl & certinly don't want to be limited to Werner. Sent an app in to Stevens. Had an offer from CRST but will steer clear of them. Don't want to run team anyway.
Hope to see you & others out there before long. If you happen to be passing Caddo Valley, Arkansas on I-30 exit 76, stop & say hi. I'm setting my wife up with a greenhouse & doublewide almose across the street from the Fina truckstop. I'll buy ya a cup of coffee and a bite to eat.

Answer:
shiftingears; you filed an application with Stevens Transport, thats good. There is a member of another forum http://www.classadrivers.com/ named Patrick. He is going to Stevens Transport. You may want ot check out these two websites to see who is hiring you your area and training: http://www.classadrivers.com/ and http://www.everytruckjob.com/trucking-jobs.html.
When I go to US Express next month I hope to run south and I may take you up on that offer of coffee and a meal. Go safely; see you on the big road
Answer:
Thanks Dtrain, I'll check them out. And do stop by if you can. Tiny little place but a number of eating places including a Cracker Barrel.
