Comments Welcomed on these Carriers
Question:
Newbie wants to know OTR drivers opinions on McElroy, CFS, Digby and Melton.
Thank you. Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and it annoys the pig.

Answer:
I've never drvn for any of those carriers & will admit that I do NOT know much about them.(what little I know about them is from what Others have told me.)
About the only thing I know for SURE is that...
The Owners of Melton, are relatives of CFI. and that they keep their equipment well-maintained.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Answer:
Not many years back, Digby was known as:
Did
I
Go
Broke
Yet?
Backwards:
Yes
By
Golly
I
Did!
They own the "raised from the grave" Navajo. From what I have seen of their drivers, I am not impressed.
Can't comment on the others.Sometimes you have to dig through a lot horsesh#t to find the pony.

Answer:
It has been a few years, but I have talked with several Melton drivers who have had fairlt positve things to say about the company.
One thing though. You need at least 6 months OTR exp before hiring.
Answer:
FYI - J. Moyes owns part of Navajo too, if my info is current "Stop holding me back. I'm going to clown college." Homer Simpson

Answer:
what i ahve learned from drivers that either work for navajo/digby or used to, if you don't need much sleep and can fudge a logbook then they are great to work for, otherwise you are SOL. And keep in mind, those pretty largecars aren't cheap and they need to be paid for quickly to start making profit, as a genereal rule the prettier the truck the lower the pay....so find an ugly truck and get rich!
And by pretty I don't mean 'clean' i mean chicken lights and a big oval or KW on the grill.
