Welcome to Live Dialogue !!!

I'm thinking of becoming a driver
Question:
Where should I start?
I can barely drive a car so will it be hard?
Do you have to shift those things?
I looked in one before and it had so many gauges. Do I need to know what they all mean?
Somebody told me they have airlines. Does that mean they fly?
How fast can I make a million bucks?
Thanks in advacne!

Answer:
Hey Peacekeeper, you and PacGarcon should hook up and become a team.
A scary thought all around.

Answer:
Who is that? Sound neat....
Where do I find a school?
Do they have correspondence courses and will they send me a truck to practice with?

Answer:

The beginning is usually a good place, but with truck driving.... sometimes in the middle will do.

No one should be able to distinguish you from the other newbie truck drivers. You will fit right in.

What "things"? Can you be more specific?

Why would you need to know all that? If it runs hot, look for steam. If the oil pressure drops, don't worry, you'll stop. If the alternator is messin up, eventually, you'll stop.

Someone is pulling your leg..... it only flies if it has a "chicken wing".

How fast can you gather up 2 million does (deer) that have already been bred? Statically speaking, half the babies should be bucks.... there ya go. A million bucks

You're Weclome!

Answer:
Sorry replace things for trucks.
I'm not down with the lingo yet.
Why so many tires? Do they have 18 brakes also?
Why can't they make them closer to the ground? I'm scared of heights.

Answer:
A good solid 2 week CDL school would be good. It shouldn't cost ya more than 7 or 8 thousand. Just get a loan for it, makes life easier.
See the first answer. Two weeks is more than enough.
No, many are push button for ease and comfort.
Forget about the gauges, Lexy is right,
NO, not to worry you'll learn it all in the 2 week course.

Dont believe all the hype those recruiters tell you. You'll make around 100k a year but IT could be a little less in a bad year.
Yes
I agree with Hoss. Give Prime a call and pick out your own cash making dream machine. Remember, IT'S NOT A JOB IT'S A LIFE STYLE.

Answer:
OMG PK.... As usual....you have me ROFL......
Let us know when you find the 'right' school, and graduate, ok? I know of many 'ladies' looking to hook up with a truckdriver!

Answer:
You know PK, there are people looking at this wondering if you are serious or not. I personally can't tell. But to answer your questions here goes!!
You could start at just about anywhere.
If you can barely drive a car then you will fit in with the Professionals.
You don't need to shift. Just put it one gear and go, it may take longer, but then you can enjoy the scenery.
Guages are there to look cool.(you can put shiney plastic thingies around them too)
Why have airlines if the truck can't fly.(someone was pulling your leg)
A million bucks can be obtain without much effort in 5 years tops. That is if you alott just 10 minutes at the Cherry Machines. You have enought to pay for a date with the local lot lizard as well.
Good luck to all new drivers. This is USAF 2T2 and I approve this message.

Answer:
If you cant make a million right away, try a lease purchase from Prime, PK.
I hear good things.... LIARS SUKK

Answer:

Maybe drive us all crazy, at least he drives.

Answer:

Just look for the vehicle that has "Student Driver" in the window... no, wait. That is high school drivers ed. Look for the big truck and trailer that has down the length of the trailer.... "I is gonna be a truck driver real soon."

Yes, the correspondence courses are conducted via CB radio. Rodger beep is required.
"They" will send you a truck... it's usually 1/32 scale and sometimes even remote controlled.

Dammit boyyyy. I heard that, I did. Put that 10 in the wind and let's whoop and ride. Commmonnn back! 10 fowe.

The tire question is easy... common sense really. The reason is cuz those loads are heavy and if you blow out say one, two, three or more.... ya still got tires left.
No... not 18. Ya got 20 of'em. One for each tire and a brake pedal and a hand brake

Cuz it is so much "funnier' when the ol foot slips off the step the higher the distance.
To cure the fear..... just close your eyes. You'll be fine.Ben Franklin

Answer:
Well, I Want to respond, but everytime I TRY to answer PK, I start laughing so hard I can't get it out.
