Best state to live in for loads in & out???
Question:
I am plan to move to another state before I start driving. I would like your opinions on the best location to live? I've been leaning towards Texas but I've read that loads out are not as plentiful as loads in?

Answer:
Chicago area is good for loads in and out..Not always the best driving, but frieght is plentiful.

Answer:
Any major freight hub is good.
Chicago
Los Angeles
New York
Houston
New Orleans
Seattle
Should be plenty of freight coming out of any of these cities. Whether it pays decent or not, well, that's a different story.

Answer:
Atlanta area, lots of loads in and out.
The problem with the best places. They also have the most people.

Answer:
for freight and for companies hiring are:
Midwest (IL, IA, IN, MO, OK, KS)
Southeast (GA, NC, SC, AL, AR)
Some of the worst areas for driving jobs and either inbound or outbound freight are the Northwest, and the southwest, Florida, and the Northeast north of NY.
I will always be a mutter trucker at heart.

I'm confused. Is this thread about home time? I don't see how where a driver lives can matter any other way.

Answer:
IMHO Southern WISCONSIN. Who would want to live around Chicago?
Better to have it and not need it as need it and not have it!Just remember:If the world did'nt suck, you'd fall off!
The more I see and read about Republicans and Democrats, the more I wish we had an Independent Party.

Where a driver lives DOES make a difference. If you live out in west central WY, you ain't gonna get home much. Where as living someplace like Chicago, you should be able to be home on a regular basis.

"So you think I'm a loser? Just because I have a stinking job that I hate, a family that doesn't respect me, a whole city that curses the day I was born? Well, that may mean loser to you, but let me tell you something. Every morning when I wake up, I know it's not going to get any better until I go back to sleep again. So I get up, have my watered down Tang and still-frozen Pop Tart, get in my car with no upholstery, no gas and six more payments to fight traffic just for the privilege of putting cheap shoes on the cloven hooves of people like you. I'll never play football like I thought I would, I'll never know the touch of a beautiful woman, and I'll never again know the joy of driving without a bag on my head. But I'm not a loser. 'Cause despite it all, me and every other guy who'll never be what he wanted to be, are still out there, being what we don't wanna be, forty hours a week, for life. And the fact that I haven't put a gun to my mouth, you pudding of a woman, makes me a winner!" - Al Bundy

Answer:
I have lived in the St louis area for my hole truck driving time. I have yet to work for a carrier that didi no tget plenty of loads through here. I have worked for almost all of the bug carriers and all have been able to get me through the house here. We have a great distribution system here. We are the gateway to the west. The taxes are HIGH in Illinois, but Missoui has great supper saver tax breakes, they even have trucker discounts for taxes. That is the only state I know of that rewards you to be a truck driver.202 N Main Street

Where abouts do you live? I live about 20 minutes east of St. Louis in O'Fallon Illinois.
I hear that there is alot in and out of this area. I may have to move across the river though to save some money.
