Waiting on Werner?
Question:
Just curious, I finished orientation with Werner on Tuesday and have been waiting on a trainer since then! Is this NORMAL? I call in at the times im supposed to and they keep saying "Nothing yet, call back later" Does this happen alot? or is it just me?

Answer:
When i went to werner I waited about 4 days for a trainer. It kind of depends how fast they get the drug test back. Then when i got off my trainers truck I waited another 5 days to be told to get into a rental car and drive from Phz, az to mobile, al then to augusta, ga, and then to greenvile, sc.
get used to waiting and learn to waste time

Answer:
You are not the first person, nor the last , to have to spend several days waiting on a trainer, and if you are thinking about jumping ship just be aware that this happens at many of the training companies.
Answer:
Im not thinking of jumping ship! I've invested to much time and money into this to leave.. I'm going all the way... I just needed some re-assurance that this was normal.. Thanks BTW...

Answer:
Also remember that its the "busy season" for new hires. So first, they have to get trainers available, and then they have to get the to where you are. I waited 2 weeks back when I trained in '97, just be patient.

Answer:
As someone stated earlier, you are not the first & you won't be the last, besides, trucking itself is a "hurry-up-and-wait" game.
So, to answer your question, unfortunately, with some carriers it is common.
