Income after taxes
Question:
If you find a good accountant familiar with truckers deductions, what would a ballpark figure be for a first year's deductions? I know that there is an IRS publication regarding this subject, but I'm interested to know what drivers real experience is. Thanks for your help. Answer: There is no real answer to this as everyone's tax situatuion is different. For example since I do not own my own home at this time and am a company driver I never have enough deductions to make it worth itemizing as the standard deduction is more. You can try posting this question over in the tax forum, but I suspect you will get the same type of answer. Answer: You will (in most cases)have more deductions then you pay taxes easy. The per deim rate will cover most of your Food, Lodging, laundry, and showers. The rest of your deductions will be prob equipment and items needed to do your job. Gloves, Tools, Work boots, office supplies, cleaning items and so on. Don't forget check cashing fees and cash machine fees. Things like Weather radio, Cb radio, mapping software and so on will also work Each persons tax sit is very different. Hire a person that is familiar with this area. Also there are those little books you can buy in the truck stops that list the basic deductions.202 N Main Street Summerfield Il 62289 TRUCK PARKING AVAILABLE!
