Any Roehl drivers run a dedicated account?
Question:
I was curious about how the pay scale went. Chris was offered one today, but they told him they couldn't tell him the pay scale till tomorrow. I'm trying to get him a little info so that he'll be better prepared tomorrow when he has his meeting about it. He would be picking up at the same place all the time and delivering to different places each time. Answer: Depends on who the account is, but I would imagine it pays about the same as OTR. Not all of those dedicated accounts are gravy. There's one for the paper co. in Chicago 'burbs that has nothing from Mon -Wed, then loads and expects drivers to leave on Thurs-Sat. (goodbye weekends) They have a tough time keeping drivers on that one(wonder why )Just remember:If the world did'nt suck, you'd fall off! The more I see and read about Republicans and Democrats, the more I wish we had an Independent Party. IMPEACH BUSH!!!!!!!!!! Answer: Parrothead ran dedicated with Roehl for a while. From what I remember, I think that most of the dedicated runs are paid about what regional is, so if he is on national he will take a cut in pay. Also just because you are on a dedicated does not mean that they wont have you picking up other freight when the dedicated customer does not have anything. Answer: Thanks for the replies Razz and Buzzdog. He missed his meeting this afternoon, he didn't make it back from his delivery in time. As far as the account goes, the pay will be the deciding factor. He runs regional already and is home every weekend and usually one night during the week. Jeff told him that the hometime for this would be a little better, still home every weekend and maybe 2 nights during the week. I guess that we'll know in the morning. Answer: While I took a cut in pay to move to the dedicated board, My paychecks actually increased. But my dispatcher admitted that I was the exeption, not the rule. I picked up M thru F in Bensenville, IL and ran to various customers in the midwest then I would deadhead back to Bensenville. I also had a gurantee of $150 if there was no load for me to run, but I always had to fight for it, they would always find some stupid local run that paid 50 miles. However I still liked it better that being on the national fleet and I made a lot more money on dedicated as well.you define the moment or the moment defines you. Answer: Thanks for the reply Parrothead. They want to offer him a gurantee, but still haven't gotten back to him about the pay package. LOL and they want to get this all wrapped up by Friday. Answer: So, what ever happened? Did Chris take the dedicated or not?you define the moment or the moment defines you. Answer: He did take it. He starts next week and flat out told Kevin that he give it a month and if things weren't working out he was going back to regional. He'll be in Marshfield this week to pick up the last trailer that needs to go to the account, and should be picking up the first load on Friday for a Monday delivery. Answer: It's good that he will give it a month. If it's a new account, then it will take a few weeks to get the kinks worked out of it. As far as I know there are only two DM's that control dedicated boards. If he get's John G. as his, things will be good. He was mine, and he was the only reason I stayed there so long. Best of luck to him.you define the moment or the moment defines you. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
