the road is talking to you
Question:
seen alot of wrecks this week ,with alot more 4 wheelers on the road rv's,cars with trailers............. 1- leave a gap between you and the vehicle in front, twice this week i had to maneuver to avoid debris flying in front of me 2-read the signs, road work ahead 3 miles, right lanes ends, bridge work, lane shift left, truck's left lane only,.......slow down 3-downgrade 8% for 5 miles trucker's use low gear..........slow down 4-broken down truck or 4 wheeler on shoulder, move left 5-40 mph curve, exit ramp 25 mph , surely some will had more .the main thing is to be a pro and look ahead for the unexpected to happen.............. see what's hapenning instead of being the reason it happen Answer: No better advice is needed! If you expect the unexpected to happen, and it doesn't, you're relieved. If the worst does happen, you're most likely prepared for it! example............ You're goin' down the road @ 60 mph in the right lane. You see some dipshit (in your mirror), haulin azz in the far left lane. There's about a 95% chance he's gonna do a 'Hail Mary Get-off' by slamming on the brakes and doing a hard right...........right in front of you! BEWARE!!! Dumbasses like that clown CAN & WILL ruin your driving career if you hit him!!! Pay attention to what's happening around you at ALL TIMES!!! Answer: And this is news and a surprise to you why? It is only common sense, what with school being out and the vacation period starting up. Still haven't figured this one out after "20 years"? Unless the debris was feathers or pigeons... YOU were following too close if it was still flying by the time you came up on it. You did say flying debris. One would be well advised to stay well back of your rig... to avoid all those placards "flying" off. That is incomplete advice. 1) Move left if emergency vehicles and/or police on the shoulder. In some areas you can be fined for failing to do so if the way on the left was clear to move over and/or you made no effort to find a clear spot. 2) Move left for any sort of vehicle or obstruction on the shoulder. You never know what may dart out from around it or perhaps the object itself dart out onto the highway. 3) Only move left if the way on the left is clear. A driver can perhaps make their own opportunities well in advance by scanning as far down the road as one can and their mirrors. 4) No sudden last minute moves left. Smooth as she goes.
