One thing that everyone is overlooking here is this: Carefully read the application. Some ask if you have had a DUI in the last 5 years, the last 10 years or ever. Answer honestly, because things like this have a tendency to come out sooner or later if you try to hide it.

Answer:
A DUI that long ago won't affect you much except that it prohibits you from going into Canada.
Many would say that is no loss.
Answer:
DUI in many if not most states is a criminal offense not just a traffic violation. In PA for example it's a misdemeanor. If you do not complete ARD (it's a special program for first time offenders) you will have a criminal record. This will show up in a background check.
You may want to disclose this on your app, however being 9 years old you should be OK. Just be honest if you do in fact have a record.
