Do you men know what the best nationswide cellphone plan is? Maybe one thats got the best value for your hardworkin always shrinkin dollar LOL and gots the best coverage to boot?
Seems like theres so many companies out there to choose from kinda like lookin for a needle in a haystack if you catch my drift. T-Mobile usually has the most minutes for the least money. They also have the weakest network of the 3 biggies. The other ones are Verizon and Cingular. Cingular has maybe the most extensive coverage if you go with their GAIT system. It covers just about anything that isn't totally surrounded by mountains or 100 miles from nowhere. Go on all the websites and check the offerings from each.

We have tried almost all of them including Nextel, SunCom, Alltel,
Cingular, and Sprint. We finally settled on Verizon because of the
sound quality and lack of dropped calls.
I have hesitated to recommend them becasue I was not completely
satisfied with their rates. Two things recently sold me on them.
One they replaced my out of warranty phone at no charge. Two they
actually called me to offer a lower rate plan.
In addition, after going thru customer service hell with some of
the other companies, especially Nextel, it is nice to talk to someone
who can actually speak English and give you the correct information.
I also don't need an accountant to understand the bills.
They currently have some Internet only specials that look good.

I've had Sprint for almost 2 years now....had its ups and downs, but they have some new programs that make it pretty good...
The plan i have is $35 a month (wife has phone too, and our home phone is cell too....cheaper than regular phone), so unlimited PCS to PCS minutes anytime, 300 anytime minutes, and unlimited nights and weekends.
new plan now for about $10 more a month or so, if you go over on minutes you just pay in blocks and they now have one for unlimited free roaming on their network or anybody elses too............not too familiar with that yet though.I'm in love with my sweet angel Cindy !!!!!

AT&T is still the only one that will give you coverage anywhere in the country that a cell phone can be used, without roaming charges. All the others will nail you pretty hard in certain areas. They can be pretty sneaky about hiding that fact when they tell you of their plans.
Only problem (minor) I've had with them is if I'm in an area where the tower belongs to Verizon. Sometimes have to try dialing 2 or 3 times because Verizon will try to switch you to a credit card dialing system.

Sitting here laughing about AT&T. You can't even buy an AT&T phone in our county as they don't offer service here. I have friends that have used other addresses to get an AT&T phone to find what poor service they have in our area. I live in a heavily populated area between Knoxville and Kingsport along the I-81 corridor.

Go on each company website and look at the coverage maps. That's the best way to see where you may talk and where you may walk. When you look at Cingular be sure to pick the GAIT plan as it is a much larger coverage area than their standard nationwide plan. I chose that plan because of the coverage. None of the other providers have coverage to come close to it. Good luck choosing.

I have had Sprint for quite a few years, and although not happy with them at times, they have shown huge strides in improvement. I pay NOTHING extra for roaming, it's included in my plan. I have a group of friends that all drive, too, almost all of them have Sprint, too. Why? Because the coverage is very good, now and the rate structure is good. I have a business plan with 2 phones. I pay $ 157 per month, including taxes. I get 2500 minutes anytime, unlimited nights and weekends, unlimited PCS to PCS and free roaming. The roaming is just like a regular Sprint call, as to the rate charged. If it's during the day, the minutes come off my anytime minutes. If the call is at night, the call is free. There is never any long distance. either with this plan. Last month we had over 7000 minutes on the phones and our bill was $157. Over 4500 minutes were PCS to PCS.
Any of you loyal AT&T customers ever had a call while in El Paso, Tx? How many times did you get charged a big charge because it used a Mexican tower. Oh yeah, they take it off your bill, but you have to notice it first and then take the time to call and dispute it. I know this happens, because in one of my tyrades with Sprint, I got an AT&T phone to try it out. They charged me just like I said. It happened to a friend of mine not to long ago, who is now a Sprint/ex-AT&T customer. He had Sprint years ago and dumped them for AT&T, but found out just how much better they have become. The first thing he noticed was the difference in sound quality and now he knows why we all told him his phone sounded terrible. Because it did. Incidentally, I paid AT&T to get rid of them. It was worth it to me.
My wife had the cell phone she was using for about 3 years and we went into the local Sprint store and got a brand new phone and got $ 150 off the price. The phone was like $ 169 so she got it for $ 19. We put her old phone in the recyling box and got a receipt for the cost of the phone, as this was going to charity. Evidentally Sprint donates them to a cause that meets the requirements.
So before you scratch Sprint off your list, take a hard look at the coverage areas. They still have the largest Digital network of all the companies and they share tower space with others, including AT&T. I actually have Digital coverage in 3 or 4 towns across I80 in Wyoming. The rest of the way across I have roam cells, that actually work most of the time. My biggest problem is dropped calls, but they are even getting less frequent.
Do your homework, it could save you from making a big mistake. All companies have plans in the areas they are located, but only a few have plans for the whole country. Double check your plan's coverage, to insure you will have service wherever you are, and no extra charges for using the phone in Timbuktu. Make sure what you're getting, because it will be a costly mistake to choose the wrong company.
