From the file of just the way it is.........
Question:
Many states have slower speed limits for large trucks because as the theory goes trucks can not stop as fast as cars....and 4 wheelers have no trouble cutting in front of you, slamming their brakes on, slowing down on steep inclines, and all manner of other stupid things to help prove that fact.
The law requires a number of turn indicaters/flashers on a large truck so the driver of the truck can communicate his intentions to make a turn, switch lanes, or that he is going to be stopped for a long period of time. To the average driver of a 4 wheeler these blinking lights indicate exactly where you want the car in relation to you.
While helpful directions can still be a dangerous thing. Directions often are seem to be given by someone who drives a certain route every day in a little sub compact car who more than likely either forgets one improtant turn or forgets about the 12'6 bridge he crosses under twice a day, and if you do get good directions it usually seems to be from someone who speaks english as a hobby.
When all is going very well, your truck is running good, you are wide awake, have plenty of time to make your delivery or pickup, taffic is moving along very well, and you are in the groove just cruising along alert but relaxed and the miles are zipping by....this is the time to be scared because somewhere down the road Murphy is plotting against you.
If you sit at the lunch counter in any truck stop between 11 am and 1 pm or between 5pm and 7 pm and really listen to the other dirvers talk and try to comprehend their "logic" you are garunteed to come away with a headache.
Sunrises and sunsets are only pretty if you are parked.
It does no good to get to a warehouse early enough to be the first in line when they hand out dock assignments. (For those early morning deliveries to warehouses that are closed over night) No matter where you are in line there is always a bunch of impatient idiots who will rush the docks and make it impossible for anyone to get in a door. Just be there early enough to check in by your appointment time.
Warehouses are a lot like doctor's offices. Be darn sure to be there on time for your appointment so you can wait for them to get to you. If you are more than a few minutes late however they will have you reschedule.
There are a lot more to the file of the way it is.........enjoy this excerpt for now.
I will always be a mutter trucker at heart.
Answer:
Well, that didn't make much sense. Let me have a few and I'll read it again.
