Question:
Razz has Roehl changed their policy on new drivers being in the curtainside fleet? According to the website they have curtainside available to new drivers in the pay package info. I also see that curtainside is open to the 7 on 7 off drivers as well. Is Roehl getting any dedicated runs like the other big companies? In the curtainside fleet what areas of the country do you usually run? How much Northeast freight is there in curtainside? Razz I know you are usually home on weekends is that the exception or the norm based on where you live?

I can't give you a comlete answer on this because I never did it and I don't work there anymore so I can't check for you. But I did get a voicemail a while back from that fleet saying that they were looking for drivers. Roehl will change any of their policies in a heartbeat, and without notice. So it is quite possible that they are now letting new drivers pull curtainsides.you define the moment or the moment defines you.

I went thru orientation in February, and I asked several people if I could go curtainside right away. Everyone told me no - you had to have six months in before you go to curtains. I also saw the new pay scale that lists a zero experience wage for curtains, but as far as I can tell you still need the six months before you can do it. Ask a recruiter if you talk to one - anything can change at any time.

Roehl can and will, change policies at will at any time. I guess it depends how badly they need warm bodies at a particular time. Personally, I'm looking at going to a local job. Getting tired of the new HOS, and, now on Sept 1st, we are going to have the new blood pressure regs coming in. I have high BP, but I keep it regulated with meds. But I think it's still time to go local. This old body can stand just so much. All I can tell you is to ask. Good luck.Just remember:If the world did'nt suck, you'd fall off!
