I know I've asked this before
Question:
I got my CDL and now I can't find a job why because I am 7 months under 21 almost every company I have talked to (local companys hauling fruit, veggies, crap) wont take due to insurance purposes of course so how can I find out about companys insurance policies so I can just read it so I can see it in writing I keep looking and hopefully I can find a break I am open to any suggestions, I live in Central California (Fresno) thank you guys very much for the input. Answer: I hate to say it, but you just might have to Wait for 7mnths.(when you actually turn 21.) Answer: A companies EXACT insurance policy is no ones business but their own. The law states that a company must have "X' amount of coverage and must provide proof of that coverage upon request, but beyond that they do not have to post or tell anyone anything like "No drivers under 21". Of course in some ways they are telling you this when they advertise for drivers and the ad says something like "6 mo exp, 23 years of age". Now then I do not know if we told you this exactly before, but I do know we have told several other posters that if you are under 21 you can obtain a CDL to drive within your home state but it will be next to impossible to find a job until you are 21 and even then it will be difficult until you turn 23-25. Also the younger you are the less tolerance companies (due to insurance) have for black marks on your driving record. Answer: You can't even run intrastate in California???? I tell you what dude! Get the heII out of that communist state and you can drive a truck!!!! Here in Iowa; we have a bunch of 18 to 21 year olds hauling grain in state. That freak'n state you call home is the most rediculous in this country----GAURANTEE It's apparent this place is never going to change....then again; why should it? It gets the clientel it deserves. Bette Midler Answer: Thanks for all the responses guys I can run in state but no one can take me I know California is lame and the hardest state to get a CDL too from what I heard I had to to a bunch of written tests my Medical of course and then I had to do, my pass or fail air brakes test, my in cab inspection, my outside vehicle walkaround, 5 skills tests(2ft controlled stop, 100 ft straight line back, parallel parking, alley docking, and 1ft controlled right hand turn) plus a 1hr drive test, and I had to tell her the 5 elements of downhill braking plus my breakdown procedure for going uphill and downhill. All of that for nothing but I'll keep looking and hold my head up high and look forward to getting on thr road, I've even offered drivers to drive for them in Cali and lump for them for a small fee they said no way so whatcha gonna do. bye all.
