Yes i was thinking about becoming a otr trucker but just wanted to get some replys.
i have the option of getting a van and working for a company delivering loads or go to a sch and become a otr trucker. what job makes u more money?

Impossible to say without being able to compare actual situations.
I have a freind who is a bicycle messenger in Boston. He makes over $50,000/year. My first year OTR, I made $22,500.00, (I have been in trucking in one way or another for over thirty years, but I only have a total of maybe...six years OTR.)
My last year as an owner operator, I paid myself just under seventy grand in milage and bonuses. (Trucking is a business and should be run as such. You must pay yourself as you would a hired driver. Just because you have money left after your expences for the month does not mean you can pocket it all.)
I have a neighbor who runs a panel van between Tucson, Phoenix and Sierra Vista, AZ. He did as well as I did in my last year, but he has a list of regular customers that took him years to get. I could not do the same unless I put the time into it as he did.
Overnight success? I have heard of it, but never seen it!

There is NO way to answer your question. Not enough info.
But if this helps.
Realistically you can expect to make $25,000-$28,000 your first year OTR.
$26,000-$30,000 the second
$30,000-$35,000 plus third.
Now what will you make after taking care of all expenses associated with buying and owning the van??????
