Which company to train with and work for??
Question:
I am wondering what company to train and work for Crete Millis Transfer Roehl CRST Swift FFE The Pumpkin I did not put this in order of who I was thinking about. I am looking at at least 6 months to a year before I would start training. Need make sure I have enough money saved up. PLMK your thoughts. Thanks alot. Michael Answer: If it was me I would look at Crete first. They seem to have lots of Dedicated and regional in their different divisions. I'm thinking about working for Shaffer myself. I like what they have to offer and not much bull S mixed in. Them Millis because I usually only hear good about them. Then the Pumpkin. They also have different divisions you can make some money in. I like their specialized division. I've spent some time talking with their drivers and the income is good along with better homebtime than most. The rest wouldn't interest me. Answer: Schneider Millis Crete Roehl These are Not in any particular order. Answer: Stay away from Crst. Answer: I go with this list AND in this order, depending on my needs. Personally I was going to go to SNI, but they wanted a current ECG and Stress Test, NOT a thing to ask of a guy on unemployment and no insurance. Answer: your very wise to save up your money to go to school first. do not take out a loan to pay for school. you will be sorry if you do. i can't really give you any advice about any companies because i haven't driven yet. i just finished school. i've heard good and bad things about all of them so alot of it depends on working for a carrier that has an operating center near your home. you can get your home time easier that way, and then it depends what you want as far as pay package and benefits. right now i'm looking at usx but alot of people will tell you to stay away from them because they have automatics. after that my next two choices would be swift and werner but everyone will tell you to stay away from swift too. i know alot of people personally who drive for swift and have driven for them for years. they say they like it so i think it kinda depends on the person and each situation is different. best of luck in whatever you do. i really think your going about it the right way. Answer: Not neccessarily. Just because they have an operating center near you does not mean that you will get home more than if you do not live near one of their operating centers. Something that WILL HELP your odds of getting home is Living along their main traffic lanes of operation. Answer: well like i said i haven't driven yet so i don't really know first hand but thats what everyone's been telling me. just try to absorb as much information as you can and also keep in mind that one person will go to work for a company and have a horrible experience and someone else will have a great experience so every individual situation is different. i haven't heard anything negative about usx and i have heard a lot of positive about them so that's why i want to go with them. they don't have a terminal in my town tho so i'm also considering that. best of luck in whatever you choose. Answer: If you are thinking about Crete Call and make sure they hire out of the school you are thinking about going to If you can relocate pre hire with Crete and go to the school at Southeast Community College in Lincoln you need to supply your own housing. If you go to a different school around the country make sure Crete will hire out of them. Crete will check you back round. They are not going to hire some one with a DUI or lots of speeding tickets In the interest of full disclosure I am a trainer for Crete, worked there for the last 10 Years I have been training for Crete about 5 years. Feel free to message me with any questions.Do the VI maintain your following distance maintain your lane position observe the speed limit observe the things around you and keep good records Safe driving to you. Joe Answer: I don't trust what alot of people say in regards to which company a person should work for...to me, it all seems biased by there own experiences/opinions. I know when I first signed on with the late M/S Carriers, I simply was driving behind one of their trailers and called the 800# and I loved it, and even when they got bought out by Swift, I was still happy. Today, that experience has landed me a steady union job and a great deal of security for my future. So my popint here is, different companies work for different people. Figure out what it is that you want from a company, and then look at the fine print. Do you want a pretty truck, a nice paycheck, good benefits? No company is the same and they all have there crappy sides, so the key here is to find the one that works well with your needs, whatever they may be. But remember, even if you work for the crappiest company there is, so long as you keep you nose clean for a year or 2, you can pretty much write your own ticket after that. Best of luck../ Answer: none of the above. find a small company with a training program. that is what i did and started out making .32 cents per mile. large companies only pay in the low .20's. i made damn good money my first year of driving. still work there and still making good money and home every weekend. good luck. Answer: David what company are you working for? What type of trailer are you pulling (van, flat etc)? Did you know someone there or just stop in and see them? If you don't want to answer here email me. It seems like that's a better route if it's available for new drivers. Thanks Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
