Question about Interstate Truckers, Inc.
Question:
I have an interview set up with this company next week. They transport new trucks from the manufactuer to the end user. I was wondering a few things about how they operate if anyone has any info to share.
One thing that I am wondering is in their ad, they have this statement:
"All documents to conduct interstate commerce are provided. You sub-contract to provide the delivery. " Not exactly sure what they mean by "sub-contract".
Also wondering how this type of hauling they would be able to get you back to your homebase. I am sure that there are not a lot of "new" trucks always going from point A to B.
Thanks in advance for your input.

Answer:
"You sub-contract to provide the delivery."
That means you work for yourself (o/o, leasee) and are responsible for paying all your income, Social Security, Medicare, and retirement costs. You'll probably also have to pay for fuel, insurance, etc., except maybe for transport plate, when you're moving vehicles.
How's it feel to be a small business man? BOL
