Any information on Lisa Motor Lines and Transport America???
Question:
Talked to recruiters at both companies. Any information would be appreciated, both positive and negative. Thanks Codger "Stop holding me back. I'm going to clown college." Homer Simpson Answer: Search the archives here, at layover.com, ooida.com, and safersys.org. You'll find info. BOL Answer: Lisa is a 'hometown' company around here. I have talked to some of their drivers, not a lot of bad, but that is driver talk, so it's worth maybe zero or less, but I do notice they only rarely run ads in the local drivers wanted sections of the newspaper, so they might be OK as far as dweller outfits go, and since they are registered in your home state, that is also a plus for you, legal wise.Jay Gould __________________________ This post coming to you live, from Jesus Land !!! Answer: Dominoes and Sealord: Thanks for the information. Lisa sounds like a company to do more research on. The recruiter that I spoke with said he was an ex-driver and it did sound that way. Didn't sugar-coat too much. You will run to Hunts Point, you will run to the west coast, etc. etc. But he said don't just come with us on what I've said. Keep checking other carriers and after that if you still want an app call me back. Not too much smoke and mirrors at this point, anyway. Thanks again Oldcodger "Stop holding me back. They have a terminal near me in Janesville, WI(you can see it from I-90. 3. They have gone from condo sleepers to Freightliner Columbia Midroof XT. 4. And finally I dont know if this still applies but they use to have a 244 max wheelbase allowed for their O/O. Also alot of their trailers are getting painted with Transport America in bold print on the sides of the trailer. They have a few reefers, heated units, and I even saw a few times step decks. Answer: Thanks for the tip LargeCar. Bet the reason they are going to the mid-roof is one thing. MONEY Mid-roof is cheaper than a condo or raised roof. Just my 3 cents. Be safe Codger "Stop holding me back. I'm going to clown college." Homer Simpson Answer: For Newbies who may be wondering why the 244" wheelbase restriction in Large Car's post that means they go to Canada, which has a restriction on WB in nearly all provinces on tractors, at 245" max used to be, don't know what it is now. There was one province that allowed the longer WB's, but I forgot which, maybe Ontario I think. I could look it up, but I don't feel like it. I'm not recommending anybody to an OTR company, just giving some observation I had that they don't seem to lose drivers as fast as some other companies, going by the drivers wanted section.Jay Gould __________________________ This post coming to you live, from Jesus Land !!!
