Covenant Transport Shape UP?
Question:
I had heard that Covenant Transport is doing better with its drivers is this true lately? Also, what is really so bad with the company anyways they seem good? Answer: Covenant is a team company that also hires solo drivers. Teams get top priority for loads. Solo drivers get the very short runs, will often spend days doing local shuttle runs (picking up loads from drop lots delivering them, reloading the trailer and dropping it again for the teams). They have also had major issues getting drivers, especially solo drivers, home on a regular basis. Many drivers I have talked to have quit because they were still out 2,3, 4 weeks beyond when they requested hometime. Also they seem to have this policy of, if it can roll it needs to be brought into a terminal for repairs. I have talked to drivers who were limping in to the closest terminal for repairs that should have been taken care of either on the side of the road or by having the unit towed in to the nearest shop. One driver, as an example, was pulling a trailer with three non functional brakes from Ohio to Tennesee for repairs after sitting for one week refusing to move.) I will always be a mutter trucker at heart. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
