Anybody hear of ever workrd for this company ?
Question:
KLLM ? got a pre hire from them . Just haven't heard much about them ? Thanks ......... William Answer: Lots of people have heard of and worked for them. Although I have not. If you do a search above you should come up with several post concerning them. All I have is heresay and it has been both good and bad. One thing for sure. If they still do the lease deal? Stay far away from it. Good Luck. Answer: KLLM. Reefer. Offer regional & OTR. Fair amount of haz-mat. They do not offer lease-purchase. Answer: Thanks guys , It was one of the few companys that take students right out of school .... I will do a serch and see what i can find ..... I will have my Hasmat , but im not sure if I should do reefer right out of school ........ Answer: Reefers are easy. You'll stay a little busier because you can haul both temp controlled and dry freight. Means less waiting during slow periods. Plus I like it more. Not much waisted time on runs. It usually has to be there so it's load and go. Dry freight is boring. Some of the big ol chicken truck drivers can be a hoot also. I've done both and I'll take a reefer anyday. Answer: i currently am in their training program. it consists of six weeks with trainer and then passing a upgrade test that requies you to be able to pass a skills course set up at the jackson terminal. you will probably run about 6000 miles aweek with trainer. if my info is correct in may you will get a 2 cent per mile raise and some type of detention pay. they seem to be very safety conscience, if you need to shut down because of weather etc. as long as you put on the quaalcomm, dispatch can't really do anything about it. you get 2 days off for every 14 out but can take more if needed. i usually try to come in on wed. take thurs. fri. sat. sun. off. they seem to be a pretty good company, their turn over rate is less than most companies. you will be in a frieghtliner century class with detroit or cat , 10 speed with jakes, cruise, etc. they have prepass for scales and fastlane for tolls plus toll cards for pa.,ohio, indiana. most loads are under 40,000 lbs. running a reefer is not that big of deal, you can always get a load, either hazmat, reefer or dry. hope this helps Answer: Hows the training pay ? where would I go for oriantition ? Thanks for the help ......... Answer: orenintation would probably be in jackson,ms. training pay is $50.00 a day while on truck (350.00 a week). orenitation is 3 days day 1 will be dot physical and driving test day 2 will be hazmat and safety etc. day 3 will be quaalcom, reefer etc. should leave out with trainer on day3 or 4. good luck Answer: Wnabe...look into Trans Am also... Answer: $.28 cpm. Answer: FEW ?????????? There are plenty of companies that hire graduates, and some even offer training. I've pulled a little of everything and Reefer is not a big deal. Personally I just prefer solo as opposed to team. Answer: Thanks guys and gals .. My choices so far in order first to last are .... McElroy , Star Traspertation , Kllm , And Possablity Trans AM . Which ever one offers the most is more then likely who I will go with . I like all of these companys because they all get ya home on a weekly basis ... (got young uns at home ) McElroy pays the most is home every weekend . They Also will pay for my school . But they are a flatbed carrier (more work) and do not have Quallcom . They also don't have as nice as trucks as some of the other companys .(they use mack trucks) Star out of Nashville looks real good . nice new trucks , quallcom , where I live is right between two of thier drop yards so i would be home most weekends . thier pay is .28 cpm v/s Mcelroys 31 cpm , But they don't do flatbed (no tarping) Kllm Also looks nice , I still need to hear back from the recruter to find out more . Same with Trans AM ...... Any other companys I might be overlooking ? Answer: Another Newbie that's going to have his bubble burst. What they claim is not reality. Reality is"Trucking" takes place 24/7 with no garanty of weekly visits. Answer: Nope , Im afraid your wrong . Mcelroy puts it IN WRITING you will be home sat and sun or give you $100 bucks a day on top of your mileage . The others have no promise but I know for a fact that Star gets home very offten , have two local boys working for them now , They are both home nearly every sat and sunday .. The others say they can depending where you live . Don't think for a min I don't know about lying recruters , they are a dime a dozzen .... I know my job doesn't end when the truck stops . I have reserched this to know what im getting into ........ Answer: I'd like to see the Contract. I could not find any reference to pay for weekends at their website. I would not base a belief on"two local boys"considering the size and operation of the Carrier. You can research til the cows come home. You have no idea what you're getting into, until you actually experience it. All the Newbies "think"they know, judgeing by the turnover and the desertion rate, I'd say they don't. You as a "Family man"should be doing research in ALL the Forums here. Check the Family Forum to research what effect"trucking" has on them. The FACT that this Vocation uses Recruiters to fill seats should tell you something. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
